NOTHING is every going to be as good and effective as hard work and perseverance when it comes to improving. Don't look for short-cuts or detours, just keep clicking that find match button and you'll improve over time and it'll stick. If you're reliant on apps, you're going to use them as a crutch eventually and they'll all banned from tournaments anyway.

OP, take any normal map, add some scripts into it and you've got a nice little trainer that does exactly what you want to do and it can't be used to cheat the ladder or online tournaments. And yes, having someone stand behind you and tell you what to do is cheating and you should be disqualified from any online tournament if the organizers find out. Ladder is a bit more lenient as there really isn't anyting riding on the results and people just use it to practice anyways.

Someone suggested custom game above. Yes, this please. Micro practices with marines, prisms etc and some macro timing practices with a custom map would sound really good for everyone, because you can actually do more precise practice.

Not cool with this. decision making has to be the player's responsibility.

Just practice instead. The point is to make your practice more efficient. In general there is a tendency to remove unnecessary things out of game, so that players can focus on what is important. For example, in sc you had to direct each worker to the mineral patch, in sc2 you do not have to. Did it make the game better? I think so. The same refers to practice. The whole idea was formed after I noticed that I am doing this: a) play a game b) watch replay c) notice I am missing larva d) write a note to yourself to pay more attention to it e) repeat Reminder collapse a, b,c, and d. Now if I hear inject and I did not do it, it means I need to shift my focus to injects. I also had difficulties with build orders. I did write sticky notes for that. And yes after looking at sticky note for 5 games I remember the sequence. But with audio reminders I can memorize the sequence in 3 games (isn't that what people do with playing youtube video in the background, or repeating audio clips?). The purpose of the program is to optimize your training and not to serve a crutch for those who do not want to learn.
