Your Starcraft II game account does not have access to the singleplayer features. If you would like access to the Starcraft II campaign, challenges, and single player custom games, you must purchase the full version of Starcraft II
I have only WoL, is this an issue?
Yes, it's an issue. For 5.X versions, you need to have a legit copy of HotS. (Or the starter edition - but I am not sure if it works that way.)
However, there are versions which work without HotS. But since they are older releases, they got more bugs. (They are still enjoyable though!) You can find them here http://www.sc2mapster.com/maps/sc1-episode-1-rebel-yell/

I absolutely love what you guys did.
The only thing I can think of right now is please make the T-3 Survival for 25-30 minutes a lot more harder, like make it imminent that you will be losing your entire base.
other than that this is an amazing thing you guys have done!!

I don't think that's a good idea. For instance I personally don't consider it a victory on that mission if it's imminent that I will be losing my entire base. I find it hard to imagine lore-wise that the survivors you're trying to evacuate in that mission survive if there's a single supply depot or floating e-bay left, but don't make it out in time if there isn't.
I admit, it might be kinda fun to have a more difficult defense mission against Zerg, since there isn't one later on in the campaign. (Though BW Terran 10 sure feels like it initially.) However, if they made it a lot harder it would be weirdly inconsistent with the rest of the missions at the start of the game. Should Hard be that difficult right of the bat? I'm not sure.

A few pages ago I saw a discussion about Enslavers I & II and whether it's better to stick 100% to the original or make some slight gameplay improvements.
Having finished both I favor making some improvements. For me the lack of voiceacting and fact that the plot is so non-central to starcraft is key. If the gameplay were better and these were regular campaign missions that were central to the lore, I'd say authenticity should not be sacrificed. But as these missions lie on the periphery and don't play remarkably well (Blizzard would never make missions like this for Starcraft II) some improvements are justified.

Does anyone have more information about the version 5.3 ?
|
Forever into the making, version 5.3 has been released. The new features are:
- The introduction of the 1998 cinematics, as an optionnal pack to be downloaded from our usual sc2mapster page. You will find a mod file, to be put in the Mods folder, and a Launcher that replaces the default one.
- With the introduction of the cinematics, we thought the player might want to unlock the missions one by one as to prevent spoilers. Missions will now only appear as you complete the previous one, but all missions can be unlocked instantly from the Options menu.
- Sc2mpaster unexpectedly blocked the .cmd file that was supposed to handle all the .zip automatically, so no automatic file extractor for today. We are considering our options, but you will have to manually move the files around for a bit longer.
- This new version also makes Easy difficulty more manageable, do not hesitate to let me know if further balancing is necessary.
Have fun everyone!

Great news! Thank you for making it, even after these years And I am so happy about the new Razsagal portrait I guess the retro mod is not yet ready, is it? I mean, the link directs you to the v5.2 one.
Also, I think you wanted to add credit to Re1der for making the cinema mod, yet I saw no trace of it in the credit page (on sc2mapster). You either forgot it (which I doubt) or you just haven't had time to add it yet. I guess it is the latter.
Edit: I see now, it is implemented in the launcher's credit page.

It's a very good job again But is the french version available ?

I have some question about the 5.3. - Why the medic is available in the first terran campaign? (I remember it's a unit of brood war) - When I play a campaign, I discover mission one by one but if I leave the game, I must restart the campaign at the beginning. Why?

Have you tried an auto-extractable .exe? Or renaming the .cmd in .zip (again that would require people to have a readme and change it back...)
@strobopop Read FAQ for 1st question For the rest it's because the map doesn't save progress.
|
Ok thanks Varsovie for the explication. (But what post in the FAQ is it ?)
|
Bug maybe.
Installed and watched the first cinematic and played first two missions, tutorial and Terran Mission 1, but now when I try to load a save at Terran mission 2 I get a ogl/DX crash saying check my drivers. Drivers are up to date and HotS loads fine its just the mod.
|
@ strobopop it's in the very 1st post in this thread. It's point #5, (5. Troubleshooting & FAQ) @ Grimmbald Try to start that very mission, again, and once inside, you should be able to load

That's not supposed to happen. By leaving the game, you mean exiting Starcraft 2? Your progress is supposed to be saved in a bank, just like your options. Does everyone has the same issue?

It works fine for me http://i.imgur.com/I88jEOT.jpg
I skipped the tutorial, and I used the retro mod for this, but I don't think that matters Played wasteland, then at the beginning of backwater station, I quited (Though, I saved at the beginning of the map, but again, I don't think that matters either) Just in case I checked if the saves remain if I exit from StarCraft II, and yes, they still remained for me. I'd say he played from the launcher, that is why there are no saves, but I am not sure.

You think I must save the game And played by starcraft 2?

I think you have to be logged in with your account, which means you have to complete the full installation - which requires only a few additional things. It is written down clearly in the installation guide.
I saved at the start of Backwater Station, but that is not important in my opinion. The progress should be saved, as Telenil said. And if it still won't work, you have the option to unlock all missions.

All is good, thanks all Just a last question: When the french version will be available?
|
We'll have new files up soonish, which'll include a fixed non-cinematic campaign launcher, thus making the cinema addon optional, as well as a couple other fixes.
Couple of things about the campaign progress thing worth noting:
* Campaign progress is saved when you get to the score screen in each mission, so you can safely click the "quit" button without losing your progress. You don't need to keep saving the game to retain your progress (you can also replay missions freely without the mod messing up your progress). * Progress is saved in the SCMR bank file, which is account-specific, meaning that a different one is created for your guest and battle.net accounts - in other words, each "profile" has a separate bank file, though you can always manually copy-paste a bank file from one account folder to another (look for folders named "Banks" in your My Documents(or equivalent)/Starcraft II/Accounts folders) * Banks don't seem to work when launching maps via the editor, you'll need to use the save file as per the install instructions. You don't need to be logged into battle.net though, a guest/offline account works just fine. Also, we're working on getting an installer out there one way or another, with shortcuts to the mod and everything.

Unfortunately, there's no French version on the way at the moment (that we know of).
There is a French translation available, but it's for a pretty outdated WoL version, found in the old project pages.

Why there is no french version on the way? You have nobody to translate ?
