Your example is stupid therefore your argument is invalid.
Can't understand how can GOM compare athletics to Blizzcup. In athletics, when you lose, you're out for good. At least make valid points next time, thanks.
ya never have two soccer teams played a friendly match, or a meaningless match because they were both eleminated from the group states of the WORLD CUP... the largest single sporting turny on the planet....
anyways...
if you agree with gom or not, don't jump on one point, call them stupid. grr
The thing is GOM has said we don't ban Naniwa. But we don't to chose to chose him as one of our picks for foreigners.
Since MLG has said that GOM had the right to change their mind about if the code S was going to be a price after the tournament, we are in a situation where MLG promised a price and said that Nani recived it, and because of there deal with GOM they can no longer deliver said price.
This gives MLG a problem. They promised a price without saying that it might not happen if GOM changed their mind sometime after the turnament. Since they cant deliver what they said they did they should compensate Naniwa in some form.
This speaks volumes about what GOM feel about MLG.
We really can let go what Nani did cause GOM has said it wasn't against rules and they didn't punish him, cause they cant take away something they never gave him in the firstplace.
MLG should be pissed at GOM and try to make them give Nani code S so that they can full fill their obligations, if they cant they need to apolagice for not giving out the prize and compendate him.
I am not saying I blame MLG in all this. I am sure they didn't see GOM going back on the deal(a little naive but still understandable). But they are the one having promised a prize and not delivered it. They need for there reputations stake compensate Naniwa even do they have been screwed over by GOM. We need to be able to trust that MLG does outmost to deliver the prizes they promised. <3 MLG but they need to do this
So Nani loosing code S no longer has nothing to do with Naniwas actions in blizcup.
Completely retarded to revoke his code s spot. He earned that spot and he should be able to do whatever he wants with it. What if he would of won with the probe rush or 4 gated/6gated yotta yotta. Its bbull.
What kind of tournament doesn't allow players to forfeit if they so please? We see walkovers and forfeits in every tournament... Even no-call-no-shows. GOM should have allowed NaNiwa to forfeit in the first place. As for all of the events that happened afterwards... There's not much new I can add.

Read the statements. He never had a code S spot, what he won from providence was a spot in blizzardcup which had as big of a prize pool and much less competition. He could not have won with the probe rush. #1 a probe rush will never win in any league above bronze, it's a fact. #2 he took his hands off the keyboard and just waited for all his probes to die, he had 0% chance of winning.
'He never had a code S spot because now GOM says so despite partnership announcement and 2 months of not saying anything about it with international media being all over the case.'

He was promised the Code S spot by MLG.
But never by GOM, all of this has been said already. It is just so useless to still be going on about this.

The exchange program was announced on gomtv.net also. They changed the prize without telling anyone else. Apparently MLG don't know how to write contracts properly.

Hey, guess what, he was asked on LiveOnThree if he asked for a forfeit, and he infact did not.

GOM announced that Providence will provide a Code S spot in their initial statement. (As far as I know the exchange programm was announced on both sides). That they can change that was not made public.

Also, GOM never offered because in Korea, forfeiting is unheard of.
I finally get an answer to this question. So many people were saying he'd asked but GOM had refused. Asking to forfeit would have been, imo, the most sensible way to do this.

imagine what kind of shit player/coach would get from fans if they were down in points, no way of making it out of the group stage in the world cup so they decided to own goal throughout the last game, or to just walk off the field to show their displeasure.\ i'm sure FIFA would step in and say something too.
as gom stated, and as many, many people agree, winning and money isn't everything.
Agree winning money is not everything. But as I said comparing starcraft to athletics is comparing apples to oranges. I respect that they don't want him to play in their tournament.

I indeed did not and as stated above starcraft isn't football and never will be and should not be compared. And I never called them stupid, just that comparing athletics to this situation is stupid.
