Hi! This is the Official Feedback/Discussion thread for the show on MLG.TV, Shifting Gears! If you don't know about Shifting Gears, it's a weekly show hosted by none other than Joshua Gray aka Clutch from MLG EVERY FRIDAY AT 10PM EST! (thats this guy right here sitting next to Tasteless) The show covers a myriad of topics, shifting gears (get it?!) between many different games. From Starcraft 2 to League of Legends to Bastion to Limbo, there is a little something for everyone.
He's got a few common guests including: Wiggin (@MLG_Wiggin) an SC2 ref for MLG Omerta (@MLG_Omerta) an SC2 writer for MLG and SC Report

Its not a bad thing really. Originally, each show was valuable because there were so few. Quality standards were kind of non-existent. Now we have so many shows trying to break through people have the luxury of being able to pick and choose. You don't have to watch all of them, and a given show may appeal to one person and not the other. This also forces big time shows to up the production quality and try to differentiate itself a bit more if they want to remain a big dog.
More shows is a good thing because it allows for more experimentation and varying opinionated dialogue. It is becoming a meta-competition for the "numbers."

im wiggin out at how clutch your pun was, but lets shift gears for a moment and discuss how much sc2 will actually be discussed on this show....
Well Wiggin said he loves bad puns and yours was actually way too good so... Tho I'd like to know how much about SC2 it really is as well because despite all this "you're hurting esports if you don't watch other games" I actually couldn't care a fuck less about anything that is not SC1 or 2.
I'd recommend you guys click that VOD link and check out the description of each episode. Considering the guests in the past include Kennigit, Sheth, JP, and a bunch of SC2 casters you will probably be pleasantly surprised if you want a lot of SC2 content
I love clutch's show no matter what I am doing I turn it on to support him. Huge fan of his MLG work and his excitement for any game he touches. <3 clutch
Oh wow, thank you Wiggin, for making this thread. I've been following the MLG Live channel for quite a long time (began because of SOTG) and I regret to have not turned it on in the past when I received notification of Clutch going live. Thank goodness for VODs!! (Being a person who relies heavily on good recommendations, I'm blaming my lack of past presence solely on being under-informed of how cool Shifting Gears really is.) I'm fortunate to be able to attend many of the MLG events, and I am always really impressed with the energy of Clutch's interviews and announcements. That same awesome personality and energy flows out into the show as well. Recently, I had great fun seeing the indie games in play, and I'll definitely be acquiring some of them because of the show.
Clutch, man, you totally have my support! Love your positive energy and lolz! Have a candy heart. <(stole that idea from one of those guys^^ and shall make it mine)
It's a great show, also it's important to keep in mind it's not a show 'just' about SC2. Cltuch does a good job of hitting topics outside of the SC2 sphere in every show that may interest you.
Tonight is the last episode of the year! After some Star Wars: The Old Republic coverage I will be taking calls via skype (skype name will be posted on stream) Thanks TL for all the support in 2011 and I will see you in 2012!
After deliberations with Major Leage Gaming, "Shifting Gears" will now be an independent show. The main focus for Major League Gaming for the 2012 season is providing sports entertainment via competitions and live gameplay. Since this is what MLG does best shows like Shifting Gears took a backseat in the planning sessions, hence why information about the show during the 2012 season has taken so long to be released. Shifting Gears will continue, and the first episode of the 2012 season will be Tuesday, January 17 at 10pm EST at www.twitch.tv/Clutch08. No BS, here's how I feel: Viewership may initially decline because it's not on the MLG.tv stream, but the show was originally on Friday night, the hardest night to broadcast anything, and it still had a growing audience. I am in no way trying to soften the situation by saying "it's for the best" but let's take a step back and realize that it is for the best, and the main reason why is healthy growth. The realm of eSports is growing at an incredibly accelerated rate as of last year. Most of us are learning as we go in this field that we are so passionate about, but we need to realize at times that the most enjoyable or inclusive way to do things is not the best in the long run. With "Shifting Gears" being independent, I can post the VODS asap on the twitch website, be more open to potential sponsors, and have complete control over content and air time. Thanks for the continual support. I am excited for another great year in eSports and the entire medium of Video Games. In conclusion: Changes: No longer on MLG.tv. Now indie on www.twitch.tv/clutch08 10pm EST Tuesdays What Stays: Great conversations and gameplay with friends and eSports personalities. My plans to continue being involved with MLG during the 2012 ProCircuit season.
Well after cutting all of you previous broadcasting I don't know if I should watch this show, especially since it seems like it is very much like Slasher's show but with a different host...
Today's episode was awesome, reminds me of Behind the Music in a lot of ways. Definitely check out the VOD if you want to hear how eSports really work in the background.
