This is by far the coolest SC2 movie I've seen so far (ok I haven't seen that many, but that's only because sadly there are so few)! Really well done, some awesome scenes and overall just sickly good production!

And also I think the way they are presented is actually more important than the moves themselves in this case. They're all pretty cool, but not all of them are freaking amazing. But the editing just blew my mind! ![]()

I guess I can concede Dimaga, dropping an ultra + lings behind the tank line which was already almost dead. I agree, might be funny looking at drone bbq or zerg crushing T army, but it wasnt "top move" or play that you see once in 1000 games that I feel should be in highlight videos. I really loved the editing and movie tho, overall 10/10! ![]()

Way over-edited. SC2 dosnt need that much editing, just show us the actual in game footage with some good camera angles and great dynamism, that all we want. Look at CS and Quake movies. The best ones are those with little to no edit at all and just good synch with music. Overall it was decent. I would like to see some more SC2 vids in the future. GJ PS : And colors were way too saturated. It was a real pain to distinguish units in some clips.

Ih I had one critic, it's that you should show parts where the players truly show their skills. Basically, it is a short video, so there should be the moments where the players overcome the odds in a short amount of time. For example, the TLO vs Goody thing : goody was 200/200 and TLO was at 130. Or in the Idra vs Select, he had a 25 food lead, so it's less... impressive. (I don't mind the Grubby one, because even though he was winning, he won even more with his ramp block, so that was skill) Bu this doesn't hide the fact the the vast majority of the clips showcased excellent moments, and the montage is also extremely good! Edit : + Show Spoiler + Look at 19;10 : This is a true showcase of skill, perhaps the biggest comeback I've seen in TvP. Thorzain went from a 50 food deficit to a 30 food lead in 40 seconds!

I personally liked the editing a lot and it wasn't over the top at all. The same can be said for CS and Quake movies. The top rated movies have a lot of editing done, but there isn't so much editing that you can't see what is going on. You could tell exactly what was going on in this movie.

Cons - Way over edited and awful music. But I'm sure the guys that made the video will take criticism into consideration and outdo themselves for the second installment. On the other hand it didn't show that much in term of strategies. There aren't that many pimpest plays for SC:BW and they are all great because they chose more subtle plays than just mass things blowing up which I liked a lot (like blinding observers to use wraiths against carriers). A giant ball of banelings is fun once in a while but it doesn't particularly display skill that well. Simply put, there haven't been that many great shows of dominance like that in SC2 yet so I can't blame you but it's what I look for in these videos.

I really think they should start plugging these kind of things when they have dead air time in tournaments. I'm pretty sure they have enough stuff to use for these in variable lengths. Like, this could get chopped to two and be two 3 minute short clips of awesomeness in case of technical fault or short games.

I think the music fits the video perfectly and I also liked the "over edited" style but I guess that's a preference. Excellent work, I feel like this video isn't necessarily a showcase of the greatest skill or technical plays but rather a great demonstration of how beautiful and awesome a SC battle can be. I showed it to one of my friends who doesn't play at all and he thought it was so cool. Great job!

but this didn't excite me at all, many battles were just a-moves and you could see how they "sacrifice" units into each other, infestors getting killed while having 100% energy etc, no storm dodging at all (often enough, puma did it quite good actually), sometimes fights were like 120 army supply vs 60(that ZvZ fight with Sheth for example..or the PvP with monchi ), often enough someone was caught horribly off guard / had the wrong composition... Nice effort, editing could use some tweaking but it's overall good, but I think you should've used different scenes. These a-move fests didn't get me excited at all.

But well its far easier to do in wow (and cs) than in sc2. Props for the effort, nice movie. Wow movies aren't easier to do. There are tradeoffs. The camera in SC2 is better than both games. CS and SC2 don't have to deal with interruptions from other people. Source engine is well known and highly documented which allows for certain tricks that aren't possible with WoW and will need more time to be fully explored with SC2. Yada yada.

in games like halo, cod, and counterstrike they get a sick montage like this every month or so i'm shocked its taken this long for sc2 to get one considering how nice the replay viewer is either way this was great and it's not a movie people its a montage/fragvid

You did pick good games in there, so nice choices there! And in general, you clipped and fast-forwarded in each selection pretty appropriately. The separation into parts one and two felt really odd to me; I don't think there's any need to have a transition in the middle, given how short the clip is. It breaks up the flow of the video. Did you produce it in two parts?

Well, once again, the editing seemed more important than the gameplay. I loved the first movie, but here, I felt it was a bit... too much. Seriously, my eyes hurt watching this. I'd still give it a 4/5. Edit : The real micro worthy stuff were Happy and Puzzle stuff.

That said, this was fucking awesome, and the fact that it gives off such an exciting actiony style is great for a strategy game. Will certainly make things more exciting for people generally not that interested in strategy games because they're ''slow''

1. Too much editing at some parts, it becomes confusing when the screen is constantly flashing and switching angles 2. Some of the clips are a bit sub-par, I don't enjoy clips where one of the players have a huge advantage and then they just use it.

This video, holy shit did the guy not notice how over edited this is? If you don't get a seizure from watching this, you will get dizzy from the camera zoom and angle changing every single time something happens. Assuming you can see anything after all the overlays he added...

I really like the close-up panning shots that set-up the introduction to each segment, it gives us a view in SC2 that we don't usually see. Also because most of us probably play on Low settings, it's always a treat to see a close up of units on Ultra. I thought the first segment in Part 2 was well done, with Stephano against a Protoss. There was the caster dialogue in the background, and minimal editing (probably because you only had a VOD and no replay). In the intro to each segment, you can use that time to shoot close-ups and use effects to your heart's content, but once the gameplay starts, keep the cuts minimal. Think about how pro-sports are cast, or even pro-sports highlight reels. And over-saturation...just look at the youtube thumbnail. Hero looks like he's wearing lipstick. I rest my case.
