I am in no opinion to give proper feedback regarding game desgin or balance, but I am just happy that this patch might be able to fix PvT at korean pro level.

12.57 'units'
New:
7.06 'units, which is 56% of the old area.

I think it might be too much of a nerf, but I'll hold off final judgement until I see it in action. As for the upgrade changes, I think they are uncalled for. What people seem to be brushing over is that shields already offer an advantage compared to units with only 2 characteristics to upgrade.

EMP nerf is completely justified as everyone agrees,I don't understand why people are whining about the upgrade cost reduction.
Shield upgrade price reduction makes the most sense as its ridic expensive right now and no one gets it because of it.(no one gets it in TvP overall because of EMP anyway)
The price reduction on the other upgrades is really minor,25/25 for lvl 2 and 50/50 for lvl 3.
That's really not that big of a deal really.

I guess T will have to start scouting specifically for the double forge play and either rush for upgrades/ghosts, or hit timings to kill/cripple them before upgrades kick in.

The upgrade difference in costs don't even matter until 2/2 when it's 25/25 cheaper. 3/3 is 50/50 cheaper and that's like 17mins in the game.

Not sure why everyone is whining, a 25/25 discount on 2/2 upgrades can't make them get them any faster than prepatch. Seriously I don't see this affecting anything.

European Diamond Terran AND Platinum Protoss. Today I played 14 games against Protoss, none made an expansion, always cheese or bust and that's how it works since 1.4 Don't know what league you are playing in, but that's standard in EU Diamond.

As a Protoss player, I have to say that all the changes are incredible stupid and Protoss are viable becoming a low APM a-click race. Of course you could play creative, but cheese and turtling is so efffective.

That would explain why it's so easy to beat T at diamond level if I play macro oriented then. Because no Terran seems to know how to play against a fast expanding double forge build in diamond EU right now.

The upgrades buff are targeting PvZ i think, shield in particular will mitigate lings infestors a lot.

An EMP on a Protoss ball does more than 1k damage to shields (immediately). That's insane. Reducing the radius would reduce the likelihood of that.

This is a double nerf to EMP IMO with the ugprades + radius.... Any time you double nerf something it causes balance issues

How do these changes change anything about 1 base toss?

The big change is the EMP radius nerf which is far from huge. I mean 200/200 change in cost for 3/3 is nice but hardly game changing get 3/3/1 might actually be good in PvZ. I like these changes a lot.

Does it matter? It's a huge TvZ nerf as well for a unit Terran already has a hard time dealing with (hence the previous patch infestor nerf)

The EMP change is much bigger than the upgrade cost buff.
