It takes away a lot of versatility from stargate units and is in that sense an indirect nerf to them - I also fail to see how this "buffs" the Warp Prism. Being forced to use something is not equivalent to a buff ^^

this is really awful, there is a lot of tactical value in that and it nerfs general pushing from protoss extremely hard in every match up. like, there's no specific pushes that require this to work, but it's the equivelent of getting siege tanks in the perfect low ground position. this nerf is the same level of retarded as not letting siege tanks shoot to high ground from low ground to me

Don't ask for pylon range or faster warpgates >.>

Ask them to not make the low ground to high ground change.

Blizzard really has trouble fixing Protoss.

The root of the problem is the Warp Gate mechanics.

I am fine with this change. Surprised they didnt do it sooner.

Just please please give us pylon radius back
Do you have any idea how hard it is to get a decent pylon spread and still not have artosis pylons?

I see all the time in pro games where they players cant find anywhere to warp in units because they have buildings everywhere and radius isnt large enough

Sure would be nice to have warp gate stuff back too. Makes it so hard to stop cheese from other races without the warp tech.

I kinda like this to be honest, one more gimmick eliminated from the game. A positive change for PvP, and in other matchups this wasn't too common or reliable anyway.

Too bad they then proceeded to add a dozen more gimmicks with all the new stuff and this change gets drowned out by all the horrible ones.

This will encourage more warp prism usage which is good, but it can also be bad in a defensive sense if forge fast expanding and trying to warp in on your own high ground with defensive units. Overall I don't think this change will stick but everyone needs to slow down and just remember it's not even in open beta yet it could change before even then.

i don't like this change, high ground warpins are an enjoyable thing to see and with the small pylon radius they are not to strong.

Only reason i see this being implemented is to (again) help the lower player by nerfing canon rushes and proxys a lot, and i think it's fucked up, you can deal with canons and proxy if you're good enougth. This change just takes out possibility from the game, highground warpins never were a problem.

If I'm going blink stalkers, and I get a pylon near my opponents base for warp in, that's not gimmicky. You can easily and reliably to do that on many many many maps. It's a perk of the Protoss race, that Blizzard is unfairly changing to fix PvP. And it doesnt even fix the issue.

It always felt a little gimmicky that you had to invest a hundred minerals into a pylon to warp in units into the high ground, whether its 4 gating or DT warp in. I never liked the philosophy behind that, despite whatever cool strats there were (like using hallucinated phoenix to warp in DTs on the high ground). I do like this change, though it will have some serious implications on the Protoss tactics.

The nice thing is that the warp prism can be used more viably than placing a proxy pylon, but that feels like its shoving the chore to warp prism forcibly.

... Yeah maybe that warp gate mechanic really did break Protoss. Its obviously something that can't just be simply removed, I don't think.

OMG huuuuuge freaking boost to TvP..... stupid 4gate + voidray builds are far too powerful against 1 rax CC builds, even with 4 or 5 barracks of marines, protoss almost always ends up ahead after warping 4 zealots onto the high ground, and you can't ever kill the pylon due to low ground stalker support.

I really like this change.
It will improve PvP much more then the recent changes and also
stop very much useless cheese like voidray allins or cannon rushes.
I like Zerglings... and Banelings... and also Roaches... well, i like ZERG

You can still proxy and cannon rush fine, you just don't get the invincible Pylon while doing so.

There's no significant options being taken out of the game with this, except in PvP, where it's a good thing.
