Well, it gave examples like cloak. I know it copies abilities, but if I have 1/1/1 for protoss ground units and 0/0/0 for air unit, what if I copy a tank? what if I copy a banshee? id guess 1/1 and 0/0 respectively, but sounds unfair if I had upgraded sheilds because its useless. or would it copy their upgrades? (so their strategy against replicator army would be to not upgrade?) | ||

Unit specific ones, not weapon/armor ones. I assume the weapon/armor upgrades will go off the replicant's upgrades. | ||

You could stop somebody from mining gas for quite a while. You can only do that now if you kill the refinery or ALL THE WORKERS :D If you just kill scvs it hurts em more but they can put new ones on this. This could be a great anti-gas unit | ||

New Zerg units look great. From what I understand, they're similar to the defiler and lurker in Brood War. Terran's already very versatile and with the addition of these two units should be even more so. For Protoss, there's still no way to deal early game AOE, which means we'll still be vulnerable to the 1/1/1 and other early pushes. No AOE will also mean that the Colossus will remain as it is. The Replicant is cute but for those saying we'll be able to do hellion drops, it's a targeted ability that replicates one unit. The Oracle seems to overlap with the role of the phoenix in terms of scouting and economic disruption. Again, it doesn't seem to be able to do huge damage unlike the reaver. New capital ship will only come into effect in the lategame if at all. Sigh. Maybe I'm being pessimistic, and I probably am, but I've been holding on to the expectation that HoTS will fix Protoss. | ||

Marauder is definitely being removed, Thor may remain as a huge damage tank, but with a different role. I also really like the dynamic of the "shredder" when you think about the replicant and sky defiler! The shredder stops firing when a friendly unit is in range, therefore, a replicant can trick it to seize fire and the viper can drop a marine on to it, allowing an attack to commence! ![]() Way to add as much micro to the game as possible Bliz! Also I can see the carrier co existing with the Tempest, afterall the tempest doesn't appear to do anything too substantial to air armoured or buildings. | ||

Yes they said in several interviews that they arent shy about removing units from multiplayer, this coming from the head honcho D. Bowder himself. The reasoning is that they dont want a bloated game with units overlapping each other. The units from WoL will still be in the single player game. Ie the WoL Singleplayer that will not change. | ||

Hmm, just a thought but phoenix and tempest seem to similar. Do you guys think they will remove phoenix? ps. I really hope they change the names of swarm host and replicant, those names are just horrible. pss. All names seem lame except for viper and battle hellion. Edit. Sorry changed my mind I read the description on tempest more carefully and it said capital ship so it will either replace carrier or perhaps mothership. | ||

here are my thoughts: Viper = flying defiler, i'm not liking the "pull" ability... sounds like vortex for zerg, i can see this being super imba with fungal. also, if the overseer was taken out for this (because it has detection)... omfg. Swarm Host = wicked! I'm a protoss player, and the added units look interesting. Replicant: i assume we'll need more than one "fuse", and that it comes out of robo, so we'll see how much use they actually see (targetting spell casters, seige units, flying units etc would be good but maybe off a second robo mid-late game?) Oracle: this one confuses the fuck out of me. its flying so from stargate, but its a spellcaster? we'll see how it goes when launch hits. Tempest: well i remember the original tempest was a carrier lol, but i like this. i hope that it doesnt replace the mothership though... Warhound: interesting, both thor and warhound have splash AA, makes me wonder if thor was removed? nice that they gave them a TvT unit for vs mech... even vsP i guess. Battle Hellion: well we called it right? lolol. Shredder: wtf? when's HOTS out? | ||
