It's unbelievable how many people are whinging about things they've never used or seen in any action. You people will moan about anything!!!
As a Protoss player I'm really excited by the Tempest, seems much more viable as a unit than the Carrier... 2 of them to counter a muta flock - curious about the ground weapon though, is it similar to a void ray?
Also the replicant offers so many possible options, really interested to see how that plays out
Grats to the Zerg! Some awesome sounding units there.
I'm so excited about HoTS. Up until today it really wasn't on my rader, but we're essentially getting a whole new SC2 experience! And in a few years, people will refer to "Vanilla" SC2 in horror I'm sure.
Thanks Blizzard for continuing to develop this wonderful game

If you're going to remove the thor, REMOVE THE THOR. Don't just make it into another "one only" unit "a la mothership" and then take it out when Legacy of the Void comes out because it was a dumb gimmicky idea

Tempest is just a remade carrier. Battle hellion is just a remade hellion.
Otherwise you can call the Swarm Lord (the new Brood lord) a new unit.
You should also check what they remove. Carrier and Mothership, for example.

Turning into?
Where have you been this past year lol

To me this expansion looks like a very long and painful road for protoss. did you completely forget the replication unit? You can mimmick ANY unit, even those OP terran/zerg units. Toss now has an infestor. Someone mentioned only having one thor, well guess what? You got goliaths now. Can't copy Massive, costs 200/200. Builds out of Robotics bay.
Still, wouldn't hurt to have them lying around but I doubt you would ever get to use them until the late game, where you can afford spending 200/200 to copy a unit.
Probably crap against Terran but looks like it will be amazing against Zerg, provided the new Zerg units aren't massive

why even play this game if you don't like anything that they add? I simply love it and can't wait until it comes. People talking with no information like they owned this expansion for a year already. Oh this is imba, that is imba STFU.. honestly.

It's not like they made a "zerg expansion" for the MULTIPLAYER. The zerg part is for the casual, campaign playing crowd. Zerg actually gets the best units, can't believe you care so much about the QUANTITY.
from my perspective ... Terran got the most love in the Wings of Liberty multiplayer
so Zerg should get the most in HotS

So much more changes than anyone expected. It's impossible to say yet how they will affect the game.
WIngs of Liberty already feels old to me. Looking forward to hots and what it may will bring to use.

lol, I doubt that is ever going to be an issue. Unless you were relying on it to defend an extremely vulnerable expansion I guess

Arc Shield on the Nexus stops 6 pools and maybe even 7 pools, also helps against worker rushes and maybe gives a tiny bit of help against Marine SCV all-ins in low leagues (both SCVs and Marines are light units).
Mass Recall on Nexus is huge. It makes Protoss the authority in deciding where a battle happens. Didn't get a good angle? Recall and suffer minimal losses, possibly force a stim or EMPs that won't really do much. Want to save those 3 trapped DTs (375/375) that just got scanned? Mass recall and morph to Archons. Expand to your enemy's natural and mass recall your army there to defend it, then recall back to Main if they try to counter attack. If you really had to, you could even recall your Warp Prism harass, if it's a double Immortal drop it may be worth it. This is going to be the skill to watch IMO, since it has such a wide variety of possible uses.
The consequence of the new Protoss units is undoubtedly an even greater dependence on Vespiene Gas than is already had.
Copier unit will be great vs Z and T, but I can't see it being terribly useful in PvP. Copy Infestor, fungal, benefit! Copy one of the Pulling units, pull it to its doom. Up against a 1-1-1? Copy a Raven, drop a PDD. Marine fire gone. Your Zealots can now attack the tanks without being melted by DPS. Copying an SCV to make bunkers doesn't work cause you need a Barracks to build it, which requires a Depot which requires a CC, but you can copy to get Mass Orbital Commands in a long term macro game (MULES FOR TOSS!)

so disappointing...instead of adding 1-2 solid units which they shouldve done, theyre adding 3 seemingly gimmicky units and taking out the epic ones. the zerg units seem to overlap too much with the infestor / brood lord.

I wouldn't mind it becoming a Terran Mothership. Heck, I wouldn't mind keeping the Mothership in the game. It would be cool to at least have a few fun, gimmicky, situational units for low-level players to mess around with.

Ice tile looks cool, the jungle/lava looks very unrealistic and gimmicky, but I kinda like it lol Not sure what the main difference is for the space tile
|
Most of this stuff sounds cool, but a teleporting ultralisk is fucking ridiculous. Seriously, lets put more anti-mech mechanics in the game because TvX didn't have enough bio play. You got siege tanks? It's no problem, I teleport ultralisk on top.

Agreed. I would've probably been way more excited about it if it didn't look that terrible.

Can someone please give us the exact details on the Hydralisk in HoTS? Is it still T2? Is it still Light? Is it the same cost? Does it morph into anything?
All we've heard on it is that it has a speed upgrade so far.
Also, the marine. Any chances to it's hp/range/dmg/cost/etc???
|
Well as protoss at least our buildings can attack and we can clone marines and mauraders...
|
All these new units and abilities looks so sick for each race. I just switched from terran to toss and now i don't know what i'm gonna play. Maybe i'll just roll the dice and play random
|
I like the changes from a viewers perspective, I think it will enforce nice micro tricks and make fights less predictable. Curious how the change will play out.

Better build your own damn unit instead lol
You could totally save them up. Build a shit ton of them. Then wait for your opponent to do something. Just have one voidray ready, one immortal, whatevers. You see his army and BAM you got the counter right away. Idk just an idea. And I'm sure there's a lot I havn't thought of, but protoss having seige tanks could be huge. Not to mention medivacs.
