The 2nd one of those maps is sort of ridiculous for taking bases. I could literally easily map out a path to 6 bases and with one wall shut down all counterattack opportunities from the other races.

Why give us a different carrier when we hardly used the first one. Fleet beacon is the least built structure so we will never use the new carrier.


this is just stupid. the entire reason fleet beacons were never built was because fleet beacon units suck. if there were a fleet beacon unit that was actually good, then there'd be a reason to build one.

I actually think it's an incredibly awesome unit that really fits with the zerg swarm flavor, while also providing space control. From what I've read, they spawn units at an ever increasing rate the longer they are burrowed, until they reach the maximum, so once they hit max, having a few in one spot is going to have a pretty strong short duration army that can't go very far. But the units they spawn as hard as zealots, so they're useful. If they aren't dealt with soon I can see them annihilating defensive lines, and they sound really good for protecting a specific location as well.


You know they deal 16 damage but I really really doubt they are gonna be as strong as zealots. Probably very low hp / no armor.


Yeah, the word 'hit' was supposed to be there and wasn't for some reason (probably a typing error on my part). Still, even if they die fast, if it's true about them spawning them at an increasing rate, it'll be incredible once they're spawning 5 at a time. Even if they die fast, it will take a pretty big commitment just to deal with one of these units without taking damage from it, and I can just imagine how strong those buggers are once you get melee upgrades and armor upgrades for your lings.

I personally think this is the coolest new unit in the game.


Yeah it's definitely cool, I just hope 4 marines won't overpower this unit lol

this has me so motivated to play a ton again. Seriously best Christmas present EVER!!! I know it's only October, but whatever.

Although I have to admit that the most awesome units seem to be the Toss/Zerg ones and I'm terran. Still pretty awesome, might convince me to play random.
The zoning you will get from the 'shredder' unit is rly good though and it seems that now you'll be able to go mech vs toss with the warhogs(bonus dmg to mech meaning a shitton of toss units), actually bio might not be viable anymore lol since mech will be so awesome XD. Honestly since the warhog is mech, don't you see warhog/hellion/scv with repair allins being super effective vs toss??? And yay btw for making the marauder obsolete.

Aaaah, it's refreshing to say the least, looks like now zergs will have a pretty micro intensive army comp imo, but that's a good thing. And well except for tvz, I don't see biomech being that awesome anymore. Looks like they rly want terrans to make a shitton of factory units(which is how terran should feel).
Hope more info gets out over the weekend.

Wow; well done Blizzard.
I think it looks really awesome; so many great changes.

Zerg:
Ultra burrow attack - Fantastic addition
Swarm host - A good map control unit. Can be used to defend expansions as lurkers were.
Viper - I really like the idea of Zerg disruption web - allows swarm like play. Don't really like the tongue ability though but I expect they'll take that out.
Detection... am I missing something or are DT/Banshees rushes now MUCH better? They'll probably have to fix that too.

Terran:
Loving all the changes here.
Warhound - Finally the Goliath is back and the stupid Thor is gone. Good versus Roaches. Really glad to see this.
Battle hellion - Firebats are back! Gonna need them to fight under D-web and good for protecting against banelings/ling masses. Gives good reason to get factories AND barracks adding diversity to the Terran army. The morphing thing is cool too, will add micro. Drive fast into a corner then morph to stay alive.
Shredder - More map control for Terran! Block counter attack routes. Run your marines back as the banelings roll in and leave your shredders to clean up.

Protoss:
I think I have to see more of these units in action. Not really sure so far.
Tempest - Easymode counter to Mutas. Is it really necessary? Will be good against mass corruptors as well I expect. So is it just a massable end game insta win? The one good thing I can think of is that it will kill Zerg ground so slowly that it might make for some fantastic base race scenarios.
Oracle - Really cool unit in theory. It looks like the new way to harass... and tells you what's coming too.
Replicant - ..... what is this? Really need to see this in game. At the moment though it seems crazy and silly. Why would you ever make siege tanks when facing this thing?

But the positive thing is that you actually need to be active and have a high apm or you get killed by this many spells and options to harrass your opponent. I think the koreans get crazy in this and slow apm turtler will just die.

did you completely forget the replication unit? You can mimmick ANY unit, even those OP terran/zerg units. Toss now has an infestor.

You can kill drones with DTs now , because the mobile detector will cost 200 gas and energy also .

Except for the terran units , i don't know what blizzard are thinking . Disruption and detection spell i can take , but what the fuck is that pull ability ... and then there are the protoss units that make absolutely no sence to me .
