Honestly I get the feeling they're starting to aim a lot more towards the casual crowd that wants over-the-top animations and crazy shit happening constantly. All this new stuff looks like things that would cater to the crowd that wants things to go 'wow' at for a while but just gets silly after a while. I'm very, very sceptical towards seeing all these new functions being completely balanced for competitive play. Now, that's the early opinion on stuff I haven't really witnessed, but it's just the feeling I get from all this.

I know most people will complain the shit out of everything right now or w/e. So I'm just gonna express my hapiness right now:

I'm getting the sickest nerd chills right now, reading all these changes and seeing all these new units we'll get. HOTS is gonna change SC2 as much as BW changed sc1 and this is just the first expansion, I'm so fucking excited about this, I know I sound like a little fanboy but for fucks sake I really wanna play some hots right now.

it basically is a Goliath, Idk who Blizzard think they're trying to fool with making a new unit that fills the Goliaths role and hoping the viewers won't notice.

SC1 had far more micromanagment than SC2. The smartcasting and improved AI removed alot of the micro skill required from SC2.

Terran detection is terrible compared to the other races, but possibly more even with Z now if they don't have overseers. Every scan is a mule lost that is needed to keep up with P/Z, and units can run outside of scan range. Ghost emp is too costly. Turrets can't attack ground (even Z has spine/spore combo) and ravens cost tons of gas, come from a techlab starport that T doesn't really ever want, and has the durability of a paper airplane.

That's actually... insane. Especially with chronoboost. In lategame you could pump out a fleet of these motherfuckers in no time.

Flexibility when you don't know what you'll need. Also I'd pay 200/200 for infestors/tanks as part of a protoss composition

I'm worried about the tempest being useless. 300/300/6 for a unit that you only care about AtA? Toss doesn't have THAT much of a problem with mass mutalisk/broodlord. The AtG just sounds like a void ray, so why not just get more void rays?


I can see it decimating both multalisks and vikings. Itll basically make popular the tempest collosus builds with maybe some zealots to tank.
