Not necessarily a bad thing, but I think it'll be much harder to balance from here on. yeah I kind of have this feeling too. There's a lot of abilities now and if they want every single one to be used.... it's almost impossible to make it fun or fair across the races.
There were a lot of useless abilities in BW too and that didn't destroy balance. Problem is in HotS some of this shit is just flat out broken and ridiculous
Like the teleporting ultralisk

They just nerfed the fucking shit out of terran and made Z/P the only viable race O.O omg.
Movable burrowed banelings. gg no re.
Protoss just make themselves siege tanks and then its gg no re.
I hope im wrong but im sick to my stomach -_- better switch races now

What teh fuck I wanted a protoss unit to kill drones/scvs not just stop them from mining >.<

super thor dumb no carriers dumb
everything else ill wait and see and im excited to see if it will work out. it almost feels like they're on this fine line of ruining the game completely or making it the greatest RTS ever..
we will see hah.

Can someone please give us the exact details on the Hydralisk in HoTS? Is it still T2? Is it still Light? Is it the same cost? Does it morph into anything?
All we've heard on it is that it has a speed upgrade so far.
Also, the Marine. Any chances to it's hp/range/dmg/cost/etc???
Are Marauders still in the game and as fast/easy to get and upgrade?
Gonna keep posting this till someone there gives an answer, lololol

Hey Blizz, remember Tassadar? The ballsiest Protoss hero? Remember when he crashed a fucking carrier into the Overmind to help save Aiur? shit.
/nerd_rage So your argument for keeping carriers in is that they're a good way to kill yourself? :p It's an iconic unit from the lore of the Starcraft Universe.
It'll probably still be in the single player...it's not like Carriers just disappeared, they've just been replaced by a better weapon. Technology has advanced since Tassadar's day

lol 200/200 and can't replicate massive... so what do I do with this unit then?

Maybe I'm just being a cynic and becoming a Starcraft purist but...I honestly don't like 90% of the new units or changes at all.
It really seems like Activision-Blizzard is really putting the Activision side of things into SC rather than the Blizzard side if you know what I mean. The shit they're putting in seem like something someone thought up that would be "cool" in the WoW or Diablo or some RPG-genre sense. It doesn't feel like it'll mesh or work very well at all. And honestly...after all the flak they got for making a fucking hero unit (mothership) they go ahead and make another one? Wtf are they thinking.
W/e. Maybe I'm just being skeptical/cynical and all that will change when it comes out, but when I'm more excited and hyped by the storyline and single-player campaign than the multiplayer stuff there's something wrong imo.

Burrowed MOVING banelings though is ridiculously overpowered. That shit better not make it in. Burrowed Bling landmines can already completely wreck a terran army, now they fucking move? So we can't punish you for not having a detector with your army? Seriously. If they're not going to nerf detection especially terran) then they might as well make more covert stuff. i dont see what's so strong about terran detection. Personally i like getting ravens but other than that you dont have much

Relax with those changes, there will be beta first and patches afterwards.

Hydra speed increased.
Finally

Remember guys, NONE of this is set in stone what so ever and sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much will be changed by the time release hits.

The carrier is a symbol of Protoss and now it gets replaced with Warcraft units. Good fucking job Blizz.
|
Dammit, collosus is still in the game and the reaver(or reaver-like unit) is still not there UGHH. I like that clone ship though, but man, i miss the reaver so freaking much.
And instead of fixing the carrier, giving it micro and making it cheaper or something, it's just gone. While no one used it because it wasn't properly balanced, it is one of the biggest symbols of protoss. I'm sure things will change before the game is out, but yeah.

If those spawns are to weak they'll just die to Rines in a Bunker. If they are to beavy ... well ... a Lurker just did its damage stated on its attack - easy to understand. Didn't they wanted to make SC2 more understandable for the Viewer?
Anyway - i don't actually know if those spawns actually can be attack or how they behave - but i can image Links blocked by those too - so could end up working against oneself. I actually think it's an incredibly awesome unit that really fits with the zerg swarm flavor, while also providing space control. From what I've read, they spawn units at an ever increasing rate the longer they are burrowed, until they reach the maximum, so once they hit max, having a few in one spot is going to have a pretty strong short duration army that can't go very far. But the units they spawn as hard as zealots, so they're useful. If they aren't dealt with soon I can see them annihilating defensive lines, and they sound really good for protecting a specific location as well. It fits the role of a siege unit and space protection, for if it's been sitting in one place for a while it's really hard to break without a major commitment (just like lurkers), and the flavor of it is really cool. This sounds awesome and totally zerglike. It's better than the siege tank copy we all thought it would be because you can't really use these offensively as easily.

I'm worried about the tempest being useless. 300/300/6 for a unit that you only care about AtA? Toss doesn't have THAT much of a problem with mass mutalisk/broodlord. The AtG just sounds like a void ray, so why not just get more void rays?

ok this thread is starting to hurt my soul, time to leave. Mostly good stuff gg blizzard.
