If this will morph from hydra and it has hydralisk head then this unit will be HUGE, like 3 times bigger then hydras and they are not that small of a unit on their own. The thing is, it doesnt look like a lurker, more like some kind of siege tank unit? But I really think zerg needs a unit that can attack when cloaked (burrowed) just like lurkers could do. They lack a unit like this in comparison to the other races.
Banelings actually can be deadly when burrowed but it doesnt really work against mech play, and still marines have to be right above them to get killed when lurkers have range, and we will see ravens in action in no time if bane bombs will be a standard play in tvz.
To be fair I see more similarities in roach and lurker than hydra and lurker to this point that I could see lurkers morphing from roaches while this new unit will morph form hydras and I dont really see it doing any splash dmg, just huge dmg to one unit at a time.

So it's most likely a roach morph. I don't see it being a seige unit because if Zerg had 2 seige units, one by air and one by ground, that would be a little OP. I don't know why, but it feels like a caster. Only one, omnipotent caster in the Zerg arsenal feels a bit odd, as opposed to terran armies all having abilities to be casted or a Protoss army where you can always expect at least 2 casters. That and I'm just sort of getting a weird vibe from this thing. Would be awesome if I'm right about this though. I'd probably become a psychic. There were two in BW, guardian and lurker. Lurker was not a seige unit in BW it only become a seige unit in the alpha version of starcraft2 Dude... Are you kidding me? Of course it was a siege unit in BW. I mean his range was not as long as a seige tank, not like it was supose to be in sc2 You lost me there. The lurker was a siege unit, period. Except I don't even consider it a siege unit. Most people consider the defining attribute of a siege unit to have a ranged attack that exceeds static defenses. The lurker only had a range of 6. Static defenses out-ranged it and so did unsieged tanks for that matter. A positional control unit I will agree but not a siege unit. Range doesn't define whether it's a siege unit or not in my book. But you have a point.

I hope the projectile (whatever the unit shoots) spawns a small amount of creep as well.

That front leg is like a spine crawler's leg.

so THIS

I hope it shoots banelings :O

mm if it is a "cannon while burrowed unit" the cannon will be kinda low to shoot..at ground level 0 degrees..just shoot straigth..

IF it gives better positional control than tanks do(because you know they suck and can't be used against Protoss) I'll probably switch to zerg.

NAME THAT POKEMON!!!!
I'm guessing it's a hydralisk evolution of some sort.

As long as it's a Hive tech spell castor or it can attack while burrowed (both?) then I will be happy with it. I would rather see it morph from the Hyrdalisk given that the unit doesn't see enough playing time but having it morph from anything will be cool.

I can somehow see that blizzard will bring back the projectile they played with for the Infestor on the PTR server, that never made it live. I could see a burrowed siege unit, that because it can burrow won't have instant hit like siege tanks, but will have a projectile that will add to the micro wars.

Maybe someone has said this in the 57 pages... But has anyone considered that this is a lurker replacement? Many people have pointed out that it has some serious legs, which could be "burrow legs"... Perhaps this is a siege style unit that is also capable of burrowing (hidden) and firing like a siege tank?
I know that might seem OP, but if it had range ~10 that could be balanced. Either way, I would assume that it is capable of firing or attacking non-burrowed as well, but perhaps only at melee range?

surprise! it's a protoss unit!
|
This unit looks a lot like a siege unit. That thing on its back really looks like a cannon, though it could be merely a shell, making it a tank unit like the Roach.
|
I imagine it's some form of siege unit that burrows/roots into the ground to actively fire. It'll probably be visible without detection.

Am I the only one who thinks it looks like a zerg immortal?
|
Baneling catapult like a trebuchet from AOE.. except it fires banelings.. I always thought this would be an amazing idea.. firing banelings up cliffs into the enemy base.
