Not really intentional at all, to be honest, though I admit I enjoy the irony and conversation that it brings out. I like the title because it works on multiple levels, those are my favorite kind. I'm asking because I imagine you probably have hundreds of hours of footage. The fan/community participation alone could fill an entire movie easily. Also, will this have a theatrical release or will it be like a download? I heard The Sons of Starcraft will be in some kind of film festival, your movie too? Yes, it's a feature length film. I've been scared to add up our total footage count recently, but we definitely have more than enough on that front, you're right! The fun thing about filmmaking is that you can't make any guarantees about where your film is going to go. It's very rare for an independent documentary to get a theatrical release, but if a distribution company wants to talk to me about it, my email is in the post *laugh* I'm looking at a lot of different ways to get the film out to people. The fun thing about film distribution is that it's completely changing right now. But I do still plan to submit the film to festivals and make a festival run a priority. Then there are several different avenues to go after that along with DVD sales. I love Starcraft, but i not going to spent 50 minutes watching a movie about youngsters playing games. The most interesting human story in EG is Incontrol. I don't like the guy, but from the point of view of the film director, he's an interesting case. He may be a big-mouthed fool, but he's a competitor. He's popular and famous, but he's on an enormous slump at this moment. How does he cope with failure and stress? At least, that's the kind of story that could appeal farther than SC2 fans, i think Well, good luck. And i'm lying, despite the whining, i'm probably going to see your film, i'm a starcraft fanboy after all I understand what you're saying, and it's actually something that we've been conscious of since the beginning. The best films are about people, and that's part of why we chose to follow EG. We didn't want to just watch people play games, we wanted to have human beings the audience will care about and be invested in, and follow them on their journey through the year. I've been saying from the beginning that this isn't a film about a game, it's about the people that play the game. I just want people to know I'm not looking to manufacture conflict or paint the scene in a bad light just to get an audience's attention. I'm not going to shy away from things to keep it light and fluffy, but I love esports and gaming myself so my perspective will always be skewed to the positive side of things.

Or the title... lol There seems to be a documentary about everything Starcraft these days. This might be pushing it a little. I think a team like Root would have made a better story-line because it was a grass-roots movement. I mean, I'm sure there is enough content for an entertaining hour or two. But personally, and selfishly, I would have liked to see a doc about Root or f0u or something. A team with a story, a struggle, and an eventual triumph. I think it would make a great documentary, but I'm sure this will be fun to watch anyway. I look forward to see this!

EG is definitely one of the coolest and most diverse teams out there and they have plenty to offer. Ironic, isn't it? I admire what EG has going for them. They have a great house, a documentary, great players.. but I still can't bring myself to like them. Too much ego for one team -__-.
