Looks like if anyone "disoriented" Stephano it would be Millennium, seeing as the contractual process took weeks of negotiation with all parties, while this breach of contract took less than a day and left Complexity out of the picture.

1. Stephano has the chance to go to Korea and practise with DRG, under the Col banner. 2. Col needs to show that they are serious about their contracted players, or their top players will be leaving left and right as opportunity comes their way.

Can this be translated with more finesse? It's a critical part of the story but is pretty confusing in its current form. Find me the original French text and I'll translate it for you
Well, actually, that's an exact translation of the text on the Millenium's site.

Hopefully Mil or Stephano have to pay a penalty, or can be sued. Like others said they have to make contracts actually mean something in SC2.

Don't care about it that much, BUT, this probably means Stephano is not going to MLG Sucks for all of us

So the basic timeline is: -> Stephano's old contract is about to expire and Complexity approaches him -> coL und Millenium both try to win him over with offers and counteroffers -> Stephano finally accepts an offer from coL and signs a binding contract -> coL announces the acquisition -> Millenium realize they lost their best player and talk him into signing a new contract -> Millenium and Stephano announce their new contract on stream
Sorry, but i don't see any wrongdoings by Complexity.

Apparently Stephano did sign a contract with Complexity and they won't let him go without a fight.
Oh god, here we go again. If Stephano did indeed sign it, what can he do? Refuse to play for them? I am not sure if Stephano cares that much about who he plays under, as long as he gets support for his career and travel. Sure he has loyalties for Mill but we don't quite know how he was approached by Col, we only know it was "disorientating" and Millenium want to keep Stephano to build a strong French team for StarCraft 2 eSports. In my opinion it is quite a selfish view on how to run a team and would they rather stop Stephano from leaving to succeed like he will under another team with a stronger StarCraft 2 team purely because it's a French eSports team that is losing a player to Complexity, an American team who are very ambitious and have proven to have more goals and plans for the future. The question is was it Stephano's mistake to decide to leave as Cedix statement claims or was it the teams mistake for letting him leave in the first play but I want to know how coL approached Stephano. It's not a pure french team, afaik they have Lalush who is a swede and possibly more.
I know that, but do they think by not having any French players, they are not developing French eSports themselves by supporting French players such as Stephano? It's all very strange to me.

Dude... STOP thinking that Stephano was born without a brain! CONTRACTS have risks and rewards. Stephano did not have a fucking gun held to his head. He acted under his best interests.
Let me give you a fucking example: If you sell a card collection of baseball cards, which you bought for $1, and you sell them for $20, you made a 20x profit. You are happy. Congrats. NOW, say fifteen minutes later, an appraiser brings $1,000,000,000 CASH for your cards, and begs you for them back. YOU CANNOT BUY BACK YOUR CARDS. Follow fucking litigation. Stop with this nonsense, PLEASE.

Slap Stephano or Millenium or both with a small fine and lets be on our way please.

Starcraft player vVv Titan explains his recent contractual dealings with another gaming organization (we will leave them anonoymous to protect the guilty) and Graham helps us to understand our legal rights as well as how players can protect themselves. " The Loser's Bracket Podcast I'm still listening to it. Thank for providing the link. It is very interesting.

What if an Arabian upstart e-sports community/team wanted you and would buy you in piles of gold? I would probably sign a contract with them and fulfill it to take their money.
One of the worst posts I've ever seen here. I can't even understand what your point is. "What if someone paid you for the work you're volunteering? THEN WHAT WOULD YOU DO???"
???

lol the headlines are so funny. "compLexity adds Stephano" then right above it...."Stephano decides to stay with Millenium"....
Anyways I think it's best to stay loyal to your team through thick and thin, so ultimately this is a good move. Stephano is definitely one of the best foreign zergs so I'm not really surprised he has 2 of the most notable non-korean pro teams fighting over him.
|
I wonder if Stephano is actually going to get away with it. I don't believe this should be allowed in any circumstance, unless both parties were informed and they were all for it.
Contracts can't be broken without repercussions. I hope somebody does take the blame and take the responsibility. This can only hurt the competitive scene.
Fix it soon, please!

I doubt Stephano would accept an offer that was worse than what complexity had signed with him.

If Stephano did sign a contract, shouldn't he be punished? With the information that is out right now it seems like Millennium needs to be reprimanded also. If there are no repercussions to these types of actions, what will prevent players and teams from doing this in the future?
