That is what is going on here. Stephano/Mill fans can't seem to realize they (collectively) did something wrong.

Haha I know I felt the same uneasiness. It sounds like when cops interrogate someone without a lawyer or real consent and force out confessions.

Hopefully this doesn't get out of hand... I like both Millennium and Complexity.

Stephano is a kid, he needs an agent or fellow teammate to walk him through these decisions before making them.

Legal matters are serious. Not slimy.

I don't get it...Stephano wanted to sign with Complexity, but now he decides to stay. But there's a contract with Complexity already? Wat.

I think coL are going to come out worse from this, either by losing Stephano or by holding him on their team when he would prefer to be with a different team, which could affect his level of play and results.

Do we want this to be a real, pro sport or not? ye lets ban the best foreign player lol good thinking lol, thats your argument? "what the hell, he is the best foreigner (lol, he isnt btw^^), he is allowed to do what ever he wants... who cares about contracts anyways?" dude, sorry, but thats retarded^^
he beated mma and puzzle in the ipl3 qualifier pretty gut
edit: anyways he is streaming now

I would seriously be careful about your wording here. That is completely uncalled for. As it stands, Millennium AND compLexity are being unprofessional. If you sign a contract, you sign a contract. You can't bitch and moan about it later. You have eyes - you can read the language on it. But I will not insult either organization until the final press releases are out. It is fully valid to call this event as unprofessional, though.
There will be ZERO growth in "professional e-Sports" if shit like this keeps occurring.
|
If he did sign a contract, then he should stay in coL until expiration or resiliation of said contract. eSport is meant to become professional, but it seem in France that players do not understand what it means to be professional. I saw so many shitstorms in the CS community about new team who disbanded litteraly less than 3 days after putting on a new site with promises and sponsors.
I do not know if Stephano was misguided into signing, but I don't understand the decision of Millenium to keep him nonetheless because if it goes to a court, Stephano has signed a god damned contract and he's therefore engaged. But the best way to settle this is obviously to have the 3 parts (coL, Mil and Stephano) discuss the matter.

How are they slimy? He signed a contract. They didn't point a gun at his head and force him to sign a contract that would pay him loads of cash and give him the chance to go to Korea. Shit, if Complexity wants to give me a contract to go write for them while they pay me loads of cash, sign me up. Put a gun to my head.
Complexity saw a top foreigner who has the potential to be the breakout star of 2012 like Huk was in 2011 with Liquid. He has beaten top Koreans. He has the potential to be a top player in the world. I don't see how they're slimy for wanting him and trying to negotiate a deal.
If we disregard him signing a contract, then all bets are off and SC2 will never be an e-sport.

Patriots threatened to move to Connecticut but 30 minutes before the signing was final they bailed out because all they wanted was a shiny new stadium. I feel like I need to say something other than bold your words or I would get banned for no content.

Wow if this gets to court. I think Stephano made some decisions too fast, this is probably more sad for Stephano then for coL or Millenium.
As for my personal reaction to e-drama:
|
He has Millenium logo on his stream :O
|
Regardless of legal issues and drama that everybody loves so much I just think that it's better for the kid to stay with stronger team.
|
I can see how this all went down:
CoL: Hey Steph, you can get xxx dollars a month here. Stephano: Cool! Millenium: Hey Steph, you can get xxx + 100 dollars a month HERE. Stephano: But I already signed a contract.. Millenium: pfft. CoL: We ain't gonna give him back you know!
|
Does anyone else think it's pathetic the way Millenium worded their announcement? Sounds like they are pandering to the fans to blame Complexity for the mess. Fuck Mill.
|
A transfer fee seems to be the likely option if the information / assumptions given so far are correct. EG paid a transfer fee to get DeMuslim which was under contract under mTw.
Unless Millenium and coL are prepared to get dirty.
