Not only is this apparently illegal (since he supposedly signed on with Complexity already), but why the heck would he want to stay with Millenium? Complexity is totally kicking ass right now... Shit just got real.

For all you know, Stephano knew exactly what he was getting into, signed the contract, then forced Mill to offer twice the money, then broke contract to sign with them. I'm not saying that that's what happened. But there's just as much evidence for either thing happening, outside of hearsay. I should have prefaced that post with "if it's true", yeah. However, the strategy of forcing Millenium to pay more after he signed a contract is wacky anyway. He could have done that before actually signing the contract and be in the clear legally, and if he actually tried it after signing a contract with CoL I'm pretty sure Millenium wouldn't be dealing with such a player or getting involved in this mess because of him (he can just go back to coL then!). Frankly, Stephano doesn't strike me as that kind of person.

The team he eventually goes with will need to be certain the player is theirs before booking anything, and it needs to be done well in advance (more than a week I'd speculate).

Apparently Stephano did sign a contract with Complexity and they won't let him go without a fight. And they shouldn't, Stephano fucked up. Millenium is now whining to the community and trying to pin the blame on complexity.

But seriously? I don't think either side knows whats going on this could take a while to smooth over. Sounds like a very confused person changing his mind as he is swayed from each side as they each talk to him....

I recommend anyone interested take a listen. Here is a brief synopsis of the show: "When questions arise about contracts and competitive gaming, The Loser's Bracket turns to attorney Graham Claybrook for advice. Starcraft player vVv Titan explains his recent contractual dealings with another gaming organization (we will leave them anonoymous to protect the guilty) and Graham helps us to understand our legal rights as well as how players can protect themselves.
