Legally speaking I don't think if Complexity retains his contract that he can play anywhere not under them until this is sorted...or else comlpexity could legally sue him for any penny he earns playing for mellinium. If he doesn't want to play for them, he doesn't want to play and that's that. No that's not that. If he doesn't want to play for them he shouldn't have signed a contract to begin with. I'm 100% on coLs side on this one. If you ever want e-sport taken seriously, shit like this can't be allowed. There's no freaking point of having contracts to begin with if we allow things like this to happen.
meRz says it pretty well, if you want this game to taking seriously as a professional, organizations and players need to respect contracts. It sets a terrible precedent to let this slide.

We will take a step back and analyze the situation but I hope Millennium honors the rule of contract law and does not disrespect it in eSports. Doing so would set a precedent that would undermine all we are collectively trying to accomplish.
We will evaluate our options but I do not see a way we can allow this blatant disrespect for the contractual process to go unanswered. We will be contacting legal counsel in France and investigating courses of action.

dunno who is acting more dumb here, millenium for signing a contracted player or coL for talking about legal options 5 mins after they heard about that and talking in forums. you should both shut up, sleep one night and just talk to each other and maybe don't make such an drama on the back of an 18 year old...

We need to start keeping record times on seconds-to-break-contract, so we can submit them as world record attempts.

He signed a legally binding contract with complexity. He could literally be jailed if he backs down, and col. is not paid. If you see this as a soap opera, that's a you problem, not a them problem.

If he doesn't want to play for them, he doesn't want to play and that's that. He should've though of that before he signed it...I would be very disappointed if no penalty or SOMETHING happens as a result...otherwise what kind of fucking joke is even signing a contract when it's meaningless. He should've but he didn't, or he was misguided and didn't think it through or read it through. It doesn't matter now. If they really wanted the player, Complexity should have made sure all the terms were clear to him, that he's happy to join them and play for them, and that he has had enough time to really think about it instead of rushing to get a signature on paper. If this is true and they try to force anything, it will backfire hard (as in beyond EG level of backfire). God at least try to hide your bias. It's so hard to listen to your arguments because it's impossible for you to be objective.
How do you know what complexity did or didn't do during the negotiation phase? Apparently the negotiations have been going on for weeks, they didn't pressure Stephano into signing anything. Please stop talking.

Not looking good. Born '94. This is pretty interesting, personally i would've wanted to see him in coL. Born 94? That means he's either 16 or 17... doesn't seem like a legally enforcing contract. TLPD lists his birth date as 1993-03-12, which would make him 18, and legally allowed to enter a contract.
Millennium should have read the coL contract before making this announcement.

A shitstorm in coL's general area.
Seems like basically, coL were like evil abductors trying to bait innocent little stephano into getting in the truck, and Mill. were like the parents talking sense into him. LOL Exacty! That's how i interpreted it after Reading the Article.. I don't really like Complexity ! I wonder what Col(Complexity)'s statement release is going to say about this Situation (ShitStorm) http://www.complexitygaming.com/news/3126/#
OMG!
From the Link
"Within the last hour Team Millennium announced that Stephano was remaining with their organization despite the fact he executed a legally binding contract with compLexity. We are extremely disappointed by this turn of events and are seeking more information while we evaluate our legal options with French counsel. By no means do we want a player who does not want to be part of our organization but we can simply not allow players and organizations to completely disrespect the legal contractual process that ensures stability in our evolving sport. Shit Storm Ensue....

Complexity was probably like, "Hey, can you autograph the bottom line of this piece of paper that's mostly covered up?"

Certainly makes for some juicy drama. Wheat will be happy to have new drama to talk about on his shows. :o

Destiny's situation is different, he never wanted to join coL he only did it for his teammates. My point is that both Destiny and Stephano signed without much thought, or at least their minds were clouded a bit when they were signing. Both left not long after they signed because as soon as they were thinking straight, they realized they didn't want to play for Complexity. The situations are like, the same, but completely different. In Destiny's case, there's no one to sue/blame but Destiny himself just because he didn't want to be in Complexity. With this, there's Stephano, but also Millenium, which is an actual organization, rather than an individual player, that is trying to pull back a player into a different team. I know, they are not the same but they are alike. That is all I was trying to say. Please read destiny's statement in the first post of this thread. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=236315

I think we have to wait for more info. If what CoL says is true and he signed a contract he should stay with them, but at this point we don't know enough to make a call one way or the other.

Thank you very much for the proper translation. After reading this, it is clearer to me that compLexity is seeking legal actions as per what just occurred. Thus, meaning, that compLexity will not just let this go.
This stuff seriously needs to stop happening though. When people enter into contracts, they should take it way more seriously than being blinded by money and/or bribes. That's the definition of unprofessionalism, regardless of Stephano's age. This needs to stop.
Guess I'll wait for coL lawyers to have their rebuttle.

First Destiny and now Stephano...what do SC2 pros have against Complexity lol

Err this is Alpha Bravo 164 squadron reporting.
