Honestly I feel that people took his statement too seriously. It is fine for Koreans to trash talk or simply say they are outright bad to each other but when they say anything about foreigners the people on TL seems to get butthurt. Plus he also pulled an upset by sweeping the fan favourite MMA in the finals, which probably contributed to furthermore hate to him. I guess he's certainly not the most inspiring player to watch and for some mysterious reason he has this aura which makes the players he play seem to play mediocre (that or he plays so solid and brilliantly that in a subtle manner the other player looks just bad), but that doesn't take anything away from his accomplishment. Compare to players like Bomber and MMA who failed to either win a finals or get to there in the first place respectively, Polt has done what the other highly rated Terrans couldn't. Oh well. As Fionn said, Polt is fuelled by hatred. Guess it works either way. At the same time the people that say he is underrated overrate him by putting him as a top 5 player and on the level of MVP and Bomber. Personally as a MMA fan I do not hate him at all. He's a great player. Was I sad when MMA got 4-0'd? Yeah. Does it mean I hate the guy? No. Yeah he won a tournament. So did FruitDealer and well he's not exactly a top player anymore. Winning a tournament doesn't mean you're one of the best. It doesn't mean he's on the caliber of players like MVP like the people who say he's underrated like to put him. Yes Polt is really good. But in saying he's underrated I hope people stop overrating him in the process. He's a really good top 15 or top 10 player. But he's not one of the best of the best.

Is he dropping out of GSL? I'm reading at the OP at them moment saying he's just not a part of Prime. Could someone toss me a link? I must have missed it somewhere... I liked Polt better then Optimus anyways. Sucks to lose that title though.

It's well known that those rankings are VERY biased towards western universities, and in particular, universities from english speaking contries. Just look at the list and use your brain!!

I was also under the impression that he was simply leaving Prime and becoming an independent player rather than dropping out of the GSL entirely. He didn't lose it, he gave it up ![]() Though I like Polt a lot as a player I think it's a pretty good move for him to leave Prime to focus on completing his studies. I don't think we should be speculating which team he joins as he has stated that he wants to be an independent player for the time being and we don't even know if he'll pursue SC2 after he graduates.

Still though, props for doing well in SC2 while studying. Hopefully, it is not detrimental to his school. Every great player should be able to all-in just as well as they can play a macro game. It's part of Starcraft, a multitude of strategies are a must. Also I found that second part funny, since MKP is actually the king of all-ins. He is very well known for his scary all-ins on the ladder (and considering he usually has 3 smurfs or so in the top 10 of GM).

![]() Don't like my fave player leaving my fave team.. But as long as Polt believes it is for the best I'm okay with it ![]() Hopefully his decision to remain teamless doesn't affect his play. I'm thinking this is just a temporary thing (him not being in a team) till he graduates. Not sure where he will go after that though...
