I'm an MMA fan too but I recognise the fact that Polt is consistent enough in his results every season to be considered the one of the best out there.
Fruitdealer is a pretty poor comparison IMO. Fruitdealer was nowhere near the top since Season 2.

honestly this is the only thing i could imagine being the case. after the last GSL, i remember Tastosis or one of the code a commentators bringing up how remarkable it was that he was able to keep up his studies at the "harvard of south korea" AND play at such a high level.
that also leads me to believe that we wont be hearing too much of him in the future :/

To be quite honest with you, I find Bomber just as overrated as I find Polt underrated.
His play never seems to impress me, and Artosis' hype always builds him up to be great when in reality, his games are disappointing.
He's "supposed" to sweep season, but instead gets knocked out by Keen.
Polt is supposed to get rolled by Losira in the first round and instead wins the hwole Super Tournament.
Now I realise Bomber has a great ELO, but Polt's winning records was also pretty scary.
I just have trouble accepting the fact that people are willing to exclude Polt from any grouping Bomber gets into.

I doubt POLT will leave a Korean team due to his studies. He might lay low for a while or something. He is extremely smart in a very prestigious university position.

There's only one person on the level of MVP. And that's MVP.
Bomber is a level below MVP, the same level as all the other top terrans like Polt, MMA, TOP, ...
They're all those "they will advance from the groupstages" and sometimes get a Top4 spot.
MVP is someone where people think "He's going to win everything", when he's not slumping (like atm).

Polt is better than Bomber, not only from his results (which are far better let's be honest) but by his "games" too. Bomber can be great at times (great play and victories over good opponents) and average other times. He can't be consistent enough and that appears in his results. He has great potential and sure some skill but something is holding him back.
The only terran really better than Polt is Mvp.
Anyways, sad news for his SC2 carrier since I guess it's because of studies, and for the people who like him & Prime I hope that he won't switch to another team. (and please no foreigner team LOL that would be... sad I guess)

Whoa whoa whoa wait a minute. So Polt actually starts to make it past the round of 32 a few times and now he is one of the greatest players? This is the same player that plays very all-innish all of the time. Don't get me wrong, he is good, but I feel that he isn't as great as everyone says he is.

As others have said; it has got to do with his studies. Finding the right balance between the best university in Korea and playing SC2 at a professional level gotta be pretty hard.
I really hope he doesn't take a break from playing or something though - he's been pretty good in the last months. I doubt anyone can match Polt's timing pushes.

A smart & handsome guy like Polt is probably better off becoming an investment banker or something and making big bucks. He still has a bunch of money made from his consistent Code S career over the past year. Now that he's going to graduate in a semester, he's probably figuring out his future. This is probably the change he's talking about, whether to continue as a Starcraft 2 pro or use his Korean Harvard education for another job. I don't expect to see much of Polt for a while.
