Win rate of foreigners means nothing and never should be a factor. All that matters is how Koreans are doing. There have only been two majors IEM and MLG. Terran won IEM and Zerg won MLG. Both tournaments had some of the best Terran lineups while the IEM didn't send many good Protoss or Zerg. MLG had the most stacked Korean Terrans ever and a scary Protoss lineup but only two good Zergs. If anything, Protoss needs a buff going by how Koreans are doing, which is what balanced should only be based one. If you don't like it, then too bad cause in WoL, as long as a Korean Terran was okay, it didn't matter if foreign Zergs and Protoss dominated the EU/NA scene.
When a foreign Terran wins a 10-30k major, then we might have a problem.

The fact that Stephano isn't flexible enough to beat qxc is all that tells you. Qxc, for all his flaws as a player is one that is prone to experimentation and development of new strategies. This is something Stephano used to do in WoL, but he's yet to really stamp his mark on HoTS thus far

Incidentally I feel the issue with widowmines is Zerg's poor detection.
In addition, Zerg benefit from their mobility, and ability to flank at speed. Widowmines are preventing that, because Overseers move so much slower than the rest of the swarm.
You can easily prevent mines wiping out your army with care, but it's at the expense of the flanking, run-by centric play that most of us love about Zerg.

Actually it does matter. Blizzard isn't balancing the game for any one region. They are balancing it for everyone. They make money off of the game being fun and balanced for the world... not just for korea. It is not a good situation if only Korean A can beat Korean B's strat. If it's a global problem it's a global problem.

I feel like that ocular parasite ability (remember when the overseer was removed and the viper would make one of your units a detector permanently?) would be beneficial to zergs here. Put it on a speedling, and scout those mines. Or put it on one of your mutas.

It takes so much care and attention to remove them while not losing a massive amount of units yourself, and at 75-25 I think it is just to cheap to spam them and know that while they're on the map you gain vision and keep Z defensive.
As for "only Koreans count" (not you wombat, obviously)..
Let's ignore that no player had a bigger impact on how his race was played in WoL than Stephano. He ended his WoL-career in code-bloody-S. Why exactly should he and other high level foreigners be discounted?

You'd lose the zergling. As Is you run a good risk of losing your overseer trying to pick them off too. They are just really hard to kill safely. Maybe if the overseer had 1 or 2 more vision it would work better. I feel like they don't see the mines fast enough at the moment.

Stephano >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> QXC The fact that QXC can beat Stephano frightens me. It's not half as frightening as players like goswser and Euro patchzergs of the month taking games off Korean Terrans with regularity.

This.
The only player I recall not biased at al when talking about balance is Stephano. I remember him saying in 2012 that PvZ was very Z favored. So I trust him. Also, mine is pretty obviously too strong right now.
The mine is masseable, good to defend, to attack, very efficient for the cost, have lot of hp for a mine, amazing to harass, and strong presence once is out. It reminds me the WoL infestor with all those advantages.
Also, I remember Blizz nerfing blue hellions for being too strong/boring at taking early mineral lines aka taking games by their own. Same is happening with early mines: your workers got caught, boom, instant gg.

How about, instead of watching Stephano's stream, which has a billion viewers and doesn't need any more, while raging about your "hero" losing to a strat he doesn't understand, you tune into the guy that's apparently abusing the strat to see how it works. QXC only has ~500 viewers despite causing this ruckus, so obviously not very many people care how to beat the style, just want to cry that it's broken.

Because its either to learn how to beat the style when watching the stream of the guy that is playing it than learning it by watching the stream of the guy who is actually beating it?

How many games has Stephano had to practice playing against mass mines, if qxc is the only player doing it? Ever think he might need some time to adapt and figure it out?
I absolutely agree that mines are on the "watch list" what comes to units in HOTS, but the kneejerk reaction here based on a single ladder game and a frustrated statement from Stephano is so, so stupid. It's like some people are just looking for whatever shreds of evidence they can find to call mines OP, probably based on their own frustrations.

The annoyance for me about mass mines, is that it's exactly what the unit should not be.
As a space-control/defensive unit, liberally sprinkled, I quite like it. If it's a unit that indeed is 'massable', well then it seems to have exceeded its remit design wise
