You should invite people like Puzzle and San to replace some of those koreans. I've watched their streams and if I remember correctly both of them were wishing to play in foreign tournaments if they would get invited.

+1

Team zenex and nshoseo have immensely talented players and aren't mentioned in the strike, see about them?

The reason they're not mentioned is because they had no players in NASL, they're part of SC2Con so they wouldn't be allowed to play...

SlayerS has nothing to do with this at all. We have spoken directly with Jessica many times, and are on great terms with team SlayerS. They let us know a long time ago the issues they had with NASL and we couldn't come to an agreement with them... all is good!

What was the issue for SlayerS if you don't mind explaining?

I'm glad they are not playing ,It will let us see more foreign talent playing more matches and winning prizes.

Why do you guys think foreigners make any serious chance of winning the NASL. Puma and Rain etc are still in it.

they are very much beatable, Nestea and MVP would need serious meta-gaming, but Puma and Rain arent that good yet, a specially Rain

This isn't about money. That has been made clear over and over by people in this thread.

This is about one of a few things:

1) Koreans trying to squeeze out NASL so that GSL remains number 1
2) They're pissed off at the EG/PuMa thing and they don't want that to repeat
3) They're pissed off at the hours of play and don't want to go through it again
4) They hate the tournament format for the finals and think its a waste of time

There may be other reasons, but those are the ones I can think of.

What I don't understand is why they went through the trouble of giving NASL an ultimatum. They clearly had no intention of competing to begin with. NASL has basically agreed to cover all travel costs...

Bah, you're just speculating. You don't know their minds or motives.

Speculation is the only remaining option when what has been announced as the reason doesn't seem quite convincing.

If the decision wasn't political in nature, I'm pretty sure sc2con wouldn't be negotiating and players would just drop out one by one on their own and decide not to apply / play.

Again, speculating about things you dont understand is reckless.

That's the nature of speculation though.

If I did understand them (entirely), then it wouldn't be speculation in the first place.

Yes...and it would just be prudent to wait for someone that knew about the situation to inform you.

They already said that it was because of similar issues, but unrelated to sc2con's decision
So probably didn't want to pay so much out of their own pocket to fly out to the US

Prize pools don't pay for planes and hotels. Event prize money seems to be a good performance bonus for those whom are on a team; and those without incur losses at most LANs.

I hope that the Korean teams are soon too able to become revenue generating businesses so that they may send their players to international events without event promoters having to pave a golden road for them to attend.

Maybe they ask for insurance money in case their players got poached.

By that logic, foreigners don't deserve to be in GSL.

That is pretty stupid. I hope that there is some other concerns that the Koreans had. Otherwise it is pretty pathetic that they withdrew, especially after filming had already started. 2 grand per player should be plenty, especially considering they could all book their flights months in advance and go as a big group for a discount. Seems pretty silly to me.

Wow that's a bummer for sure. But at the same time, it's good for foreigner scene. But still finals are gonna be boring without a korean. Blame EG i guess lol
