Well, easy money for foreigners now... NASL will be the safe haven for gravy train foreigners.

Sucks that some of the Korean teams withdrew because of something stupid. But there are still a lot of really great players and I will defiantly still be watching and purchasing my season ticket. GL with the season 2 also Liquid'HerO fighting!!!!

They'll just play their season and have awesome finals, I don't see the problem.

For everybody whining, not all koreans are out, Puma, Rain, Hero are still able to attend for example.

I haven't red all 20 pages but will "SK"MC be in the league?

I really wonder what SK gaming's response to this will be, expecially if MC is not ALLOWED to play, not just not funded by oGs. Because if thats the case then SK is kinda getting ripped off.

I think this is a good thing. I already watch enough koreans at the gsl. I'm sure some of the elite koreans will still come if they really want to, such as MC with the SK deal, and Genius/DRG with the CoL deal. But at least NASL wont be 90% korean as it would have been otherwise.

I understand Koreans not wanting to play because of timezone demands, other commitments, etcetera. But to go, free travel for a chance at $xxk that's not good enough, we're out. That just sounds completely unreasonable.

I await the other shoe to drop in which SC2Con releases their side of the story. At which point NASL.tv will probably be vilified as typical internet denizens are wanton to do.

Personally, I'm actually kind of happy about this. I already watch GOM/GSL, MLG, Dreamhack, icCup tournaments. I like a bit of variety in the players I watch so not having another league for Koreans to roflstomp foreigners is a nice change.

LOOOOLs. My own opinion of foreigner world vs. Korean world aside, I find it hilarious that at various points of the discussion (not most of it of course), it becomes a topic of white and western specifically which describes the foreigner world instead of including other eastern nations and non-white guys.

SC2Con is hurting ESPORTS. Surely teams and players be chasing the glory of victory more than just a free meal?

Hopefully this sense of entitlement will fade quickly.

I hope NASL fills those spots with players that actually deserve them. I mean no offense to Artosis or Catz or qxc but I highly doubt they would've made it to NASL season 1 if they had to perform well in/won a tournament for their spot.

QXC all-killing in GSTL makes me feel like he deserves it

But yes, I hope they throw a small tournament or something so the top X players gets the available spots..

What the fuck is this? Koreans need to understand that they are good players and have alot of fan favorites but really? Sure its expensive but do you think they would pay for ~20 foreigners to come to Korea for afew days? I dont think this is even reasonable and I think this is a bad move for Korea considering they have just limited there audience which limits sponsers (something they seem to be lacking)... They come to these tournaments and win without much contest taking home tons of foriegn investment and now they say our prize money isnt good enough? Screw them ill be glad to watch it without them

And that's why this whole thing just seems like extortion to me. They were banking that you guys would think that you "needed" them and thus would agree to anything.

So are you going to address whether the security deposit was the true issue?

We have already begun paying back all security deposits of players who are no longer in Season 2. Our contract states that all prizes will be paid within 60 days of the end of Season 1. We are still within that time frame, and will be paying all prizes within that period!

Artosis, HuK (who paid Boxer's deposit for S1), WeMadeFox, etc could all attest to the fact that we have and will pay our deposits back.

How dose that deserve a warning? There is nothing racist about that post lol. He worded it a little abrasively but that's about it. On the other hand I have seen 30+ posts mindlessly hating on the NASL saying complete bullshit and should be banned.

Seriously... NASL gives them $ 2,000 for expense and still no?!, mmm... I'm guessing many season 2 HQ pass holders are mad.

The entire $2,000 covers both the minimal ro16 prize and travel stipend. If Korean players were knocked out that early and were part of teams with barely any sponsorship, they are literally gaining little money from the event. In my opinion with the time commitment involved, the way NASL Grand Finals were run, and Boxer not returning next season says a lot that the marginal gains weren't worth it.

Also I would like to know considering roundtrip to Korea and back is 1200 bucks, how much were the the Hotel and food costs given that the Korea players arrived a few days early? It would have added more to expenses considerably.
