Do you think it's harder to become a player on your Country's Olympic Hockey team in Italy, or in Canada? In North America You've got people like me who have no RTS experience, starting only with SC2 when it came out, in Diamond. In Korea you're going to have people who've been playing and watching and SC:BW or War3 for 10 years, since they were little kids. I don't think people are exaggerating when they say that there's Gold and Plats in Korea who'd beat the hell out of Diamonds in NA. On top of it all, Master's is about 4% of people in America's server, but 2.5% in Korea. As for the whole 'Plat to Master's in 5 days'... We saw him qualify by winning 5 out of 5. So it likely placed him wrong to begin with. We don't know if he then worked up from there, if he started another account to get re-placed etc... I'm torn, on if I want to watch the Code A qualifiers themselves over the next couple of days, or if I want to wait until next Friday and watch Episode 5 Even if he's like, GrandMaster, it's a pretty tall order to make Code A, they said it was like, 576 people...and only a few spots. I haven't seen if anyone's linked this, but clearly, this is him: http://www.sc2ranks.com/kr/2343656/YellOw#alltime Looks pretty much like he already knew damn well he was Master's level, and just waited until August to begin using his real name and go public.

They certainly dont consider him top tier but know that he's pretty ok for korean standards.

What's wrong with laughing. MKP is also very young and it was quite a nice experience for him for sure... What's wrong with you

Sase is GM korea and I've never seen a highly skilled game from him. Either on GOMtv or his stream. (not that I want to discredit Sase he is still awesome player) I feel your analogy somehow, but you talk about one of top pro gamers of all time. Ur post get thumb down from me, you put misleading information and I could go really long about all what you wrote, but I'm just gonna say that I HIGHLY DON'T AGREE WITH YOU.

I have a master account on NA one on EU and one on KR. I think we can all agree that KR master is "harder to get" but every time I read a thing such as "a gold korean would beat a diamond EU" that is just ridiculous - those are myths and I am not sure whose fault is.. now people believe this absurdity. KR gold are REALLY bad, same as KR plat. Diamond KR seemed better than NA/EU Diamond though, but if you truly are in master, it is just a matter of time before you get it, maybe you will find few harder diamond players but that is about it. There's a ton of streamers now that play in KR and as you can see they are all pretty high placed in KR master (destiny, kawaiirice, sterling etc.etc.) - I myself have friends from real life and some that I met online that are both masters in NA/EU and KR. So "I don't think people are exaggerating when they say that there's Gold and Plats in Korea who'd beat the hell out of Diamonds in NA. " <<<-- That is totally false and hilarious to read. I think only people who are not in masters may believe so. That is why I believe Blizzard did a great job with the league-skill measure. Maybe the only region where I could see this be true is SEA because there are so few players.. that master there is absolutely not serious as NA/EU or KR/TW - also, from playing there few times it appears that their skill level is pretty bad compared to any other server. Sorry if it seems like a rant but I am so tired of seeing people like you posting around these absurd myths about KR goldies killing NA masters... it makes me laugh and face palm at the same time... ![]() Going back on topic.. I absolutely love the show. The subs were much better this time and Yellow seemed to care way more. I also love the part where MKP showed up <3 I hope he does well in GSL qualifiers.. :D

It's a 'Myth' that originated from people making accounts in both places and finding it to be the Case. In America's server, Master's is 3.7%, Diamond is 9.6% and Plat is 18.4% - So the top 31.7% is Plat+ In Korea: Master's is 2.5%, Diamond is 6.5% and Plat is 14.3% - So only the top 23.2% is Plat+ So even if we assumed completely equal skill levels of the two populations, It would still be true. But then if you add in that everyone says KR is harder, and you've very Easily got Plats and Golds who'd be beating Diamonds. No one said golds would beat Masters NA...But if you don't think some Korean Gold and Plats would wipe the floor with NA Diamond...you're just absolutely on crack. The KR ranks are much more exclusive, and the average skill level is simply much higher. Bringing Masters and Pro players into it simply doesn't address it....at all....because Pro players have the exact background that most of the NA people do not have.

Korean masters cannot be compared to olympic teams (if it was korean progamers I could understand the analogy).

No this isn't correct at all, the leagues are fixed at being 20% increments (save masters & GM) of active players no matter what server you are on, the stats you are referring to are the inaccurate sc2ranks stats which don't consider whether a player is still active or not.
