Yeah i really don't know what blizzard is going to do. War3 ladder is unplayable because of drop hacks and blizzard doesn't do anything about it.

Don't want to sound like a pessimist but the blizzard track record for acting swiftly isn't good.

It's not illegal to drophack so having his IP is useless. It's only against blizzards ToS and the most they can do is ban him. well at least it'll cost him 60$ Guest account. They need to find another way to bring new people in that that. Now.

this is blizzard's job; not much to say but go get em.

Ya this is a bit disheartening, I've been dropped twice now by a guy named Zergling
|
wait till everyone stops laddering, and the drophackers will be facing each other. I wonder who will get dropped first
|
Well hope this isn't on the other servers . Looks like i'll just play on EU today then.
|
This happened to me today, I was winning this game and right before I won it, I started lagging like hell and then I was dropped. I have never been dropped or lag and didn't lag in any of my next games. It was too coincidental for it not to be a lag hacker
|
some noob used this hack against me :/ , so obvious!!
|
Blizzard has let well known and proven hackers go by carefree for years, they have done several ban sweeps, but certain private hacks(zmap) have never gotten banned, so just hope this is a public hack and not a private one.

My first thought was something along the lines of:
"Idra's not dropping, that's just how fast he leaves the game"
But afaik you don't get points for that...

I think not allowing Guests to ladder is an ez fix...

The fake Idra has already been banned. Last night on the battle.net forums he was trolling. All his posts are gone, and he is no longer in Grandmasters.

It's of course Blizzards job to fix the problem. But it always surprises me people actually go around and cheat, for weeks on end. I guess they are mostly 12 year olds, but still oh so sad.

Not being a subscription game may mean Blizzard are more interested in new sales than keeping old customers.

oh good old wc3 ladder. drop-hackers, lag-hackers, resource-hackers, tower-hackers (the invincible building hack) and map-hackers oh my! Playing the ladder on that was pretty close to a scavenger hunt where you got to see how many different types of hackers you could get matched against in a day. the integrity of the ladder is still pretty important to blizz since sc2 ladder still counts for blizzcon iirc as well as other events, unlike wc3.

Root problem isn't solved.

Discouraging people from buying expansions because they do little about hacking seems a little worse... Guests passes should just be allow to custom game and mayb ladder in bronze idk..
