I'm trying to make sense of what the majority of people think here.
yeah that's not a loaded poll

Account sharing in any way is not allowed according to the ToS and EULA. Everyone that read the thread about 'piracy kills LAN' understands why Blizz don't want to add LAN to SC2. Letting people share accounts also makes them lose some money, especially when a pro-player is doing it on a stream, which 'encourages' other players to do so as well. Blizard just wants to defend their money, and their action didn't affect anyone at all, it was just a warning to not encourage people to share accounts. Don't bring up that bullshit. Piracy has nothing to do with why Blizzard won't implement LAN or is against random, non-malicious account sharing. It's all about control, 'lost sales' of individual copies is not a factor. You clearly didn't the thread I mentioned. Money is the main reason to not add LAN. Why would they remove a feature that has been out there for so long? Because the majority of the people that plays DotA casually play on Garena or any pirated server. Account sharing also takes their sales down. If you let pro-gamers share their account on a stream, but ban random players that share their accounts between friends, it's gonna be much worse. Money is the reason, yes, but piracy isn't. Period. Thinking that piracy is the reason is beyond naive. Blizzard does this because they want to have control over every game in every tournament everywhere. It has nothing to do with piracy. The map market is one of many Blizzard ideas that serve as proof for this.

What about the Starwars cup that MC won awhile back; didn't that involve some account sharing?

I'm trying to make sense of what the majority of people think here. seriously fuck off with reading the agreement no one does that. Secondly it not even valid in a lot of the world.
That's not an excuse to break the ToS.
In general, ignorance of the law is not an excuse to break the law.

i understand that they have to enforce their rules, but it's just weird that they would enforce it here. there have been so many occasions when people shared accounts in tournaments prior to this.

They want Huk to buy a copy for each region so he can compete? NA, SEA, KR, EU, China, Russia etc etc.
Will wait for the apology to be posted by blizz. I want every expansion of SC2 free, and I want them to pay for my internet too. Hell, I want Blizzard to personally upgrade my internet so that I can play on the fastest settings that SC2 allows. How dare they not allow me free reign over all the SC2 possibilities and force *me* to actually sink extra money into this game that they clearly created to be given out for free? What are they running, a business? You sir, don't understand what improves game performance. Haha, but maybe if he had faster internet, his video card would work better??

Just because it is 'there' game, does not mean they should have the right to do whatever. You agreed to certain terms when you installed game. That means you are obligated to use their product under their rules. Shrinkwrap licenses aren't equal to law. Nonsense clauses are easily thrown out in most jurisdictions. Harder to dispute in the US than Europe, but still, if it can be demonstrated to be crap... imagine you went to a restaurant and they had a sign that said we're not responsible if you get robbed at gunpoint by the owner. It's not necessarily binding.
Edit: How are people so cowardly when it comes to their own rights in a business transaction?

Will wait for the apology to be posted by blizz. ...What? Apologize? Ugh I know! Seriously, Blizzard. Free mice for life, free keyboards for life, free monitors and up-to-date operating systems for life. And a whole bunch of other computer terminology that I don't even know... for life! Now. Because most of all, I want to play (with terrible latency) against people halfway around the world and don't want to pay a penny for it. And I would like a formal apology from both Dustin Browder and Nova until exactly this happens. Clearly, Blizzard thinks that they should be making money instead of providing free services, despite the fact that battle.net is free. So I'm going to ignore the fact that I can go on SC2 whenever I want and play the game for free, and instead rant about how I want to play with every single human on Earth (and on Tarsonis) and have infinite accounts, so Blizzard better get moving to fix my personal problem! No, that's not reasonable. But the situation we're in now isn't reasonable. We'd all be happy with a middle ground. The argument from "it's a business" doesn't mean you can bend over when they take a vacuum to your fucking wallet.

@iNcontroL, i agree with you and your muscles. blizzard is trying to use huk as an example i suppose.

sure it's fair, but is it a good use of time for blizz?
I'm not happy with how Blizzard wants to have TOTAL control of how their product is used, as if they knew best. What's funny is that having multiple accounts is also against the ToS so at any moment blizz could ban every pro gamer and it would be "fair" too.
but this particular case is really not of importance - it was a warn - just a request, not sure why it was made public.

why is blizzard being such sticklers to these people.. they are promotng the game, playing in tournaments, and above all that streaming it to thew orld to say HEY BUY SC2... this is imo a dumb move by bliz

I can see blizzards logic behind phoning someone trying to run a tournament which advertises there game and brings in new fans and advertising into ESPORTS. Clearly they realize that Huk doesn't need to ladder because his MMR is higher than everyone else's right? why ladder if you are already the best!

LMFAO.
What does blizz hope to gain from this?

So what? It is true that customers have a say in it, but rules are rules, when you buy the game, you agree to use it in line with the Terms of Use. It feels really silly and small to me aswell to really go ahead and warn the progamers about it, but if it has to be done, it has to be done. Hating Blizzard for it is sillier than their approach about account sharing.
TOS in europe = illegal
Any contract you sign after you have bought something in europe is illegal! No one show me the TOS when i bought it, they only show me when i tryed to play the game. THEREFORE it is ILLEGAL.

I can't agree with blizzard's decision. They should have anticipated this as a consequence of locked regions. If they banned a player as popular as HuK or TLO though they would be severely hurting their market. While it's great that it was just a warning, it makes more business sense to leave it alone when it's a matter with the public spotlight on it.
