Well, that's....a bit better, then. Nice to at least see rocks blocking attack paths, which is a better use for them than blocking bases. I give blizz a 3/5 for these. It's a lateral move.

Hopefully they will be clearing out some of worse old maps so I can veto the new bad maps.

It still perplexes me as to why EVERY map blizzard makes has destructible rocks. However its nice to see that they are working on new maps and such.

Cus really, they're all very easy to take. @eloist it's ok, haters gonna hate, he was reported xD They're all mad that they don't get 3rds as easy as Tal'Darim Altar, Terminus, and Crevasse. They basically want their bases handed to them while they haphazardly defend pushes with 3 forcefields or minimal roaches/lings/blings. Really, I don't get half the reactions of these people complaining that Blizzard is full of mapmaking idiots. We can all DEFINITELY play on these maps, and there are no glaring advantages for any race or spawn. Just a bunch of people indirectly complaining about how they don't like 4 person maps, rotationally symmetric maps, mirrored maps, and maps that aren't Tal'Darim Altar 2, 3, 4, and 5.

The art direction is really boring as well. Would be nice to have less depressing maps to play on.

It pretty much reflects these new maps. Idk why there has to be a grove of vision blocking trees at every natural exit -.- And someone got a memo that destructible rocks create dynamic gameplay and decided to make it as dynamic as possible.

I know i was looking at the maps as a terran, and was thinking that they must have given zerg wide open middles like on shattered, but i guess im just going to be one happy person in season 3.

Chill, get up! These maps are meh. It doesn't seem like they're any better than Typhoon and Backwater, but I think I can try to live with not downvoting them. I really really hope that they will remove SS, DQ and SP, and add one more GSL map (at this point I am left with no hope that Blizzard or major tournaments will start actually noticing iCCup maps) Interesting trend: at the start of season 2 zerg was widely considered UP, and they coincidently added maps with zerg-friendly features. These days zergs look much stronger so the maps are anti-zerg again. Oh well, some of them maybe decent for roach-ling all-in

You need to play more, or just stop talking I think. Yea, I'm hating because that dude claimed that Backwater Gulch was interesting. And yea, most of the people here are hating on these maps, including top level players, because they are horrible looking. Obviously no one has played on them that we know of, but you don't need to play a map to study its architecture or layout. These maps beg for 1base and 2base aggressive play. Zerg's won't be able to hold a third, but you prolly play Terran. Well you are fine, since you can seige the entirety of these maps without too much issue. I hope that the HotS maps are as Zerg imba as these maps are Terran imba. I doubt they will ever make Protoss imba maps, but I can hope.

I suppose if maps like Slag Pits, Delta Quadrant, Scrap Station, etc. get removed for these it wouldn't be too bad though.

No the point is that they should make bases easily enough to defend that if you want to mount aggression to deny the third or whatever, you need to commit a large enough force to deny it. On TDA we still see zergs deny the protoss's third despite how 'easy' it is to hold.
