The only way I know of making your cursor larger is to play at a lower resolution. When playing on a higher resolution you're really putting yourself at a disadvantage because of this fact. I've experienced both scenarios, and microing is so much easier/accurate with a bigger mouse cursor.
The above is the reason why I am stuck playing at a resolution my monitor doesn't really support, and as a result I suffer a huge loss in quality. I could just forget about it and play on my native resolution, but unfortunately it's worth more to be able to play that much better than it is to have the game look pretty.
Does anyone know a way to modify the mouse cursor to be larger? It would be great if this was a feature in game, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

How is that a disadvantage? The cursor is smaller at higher resolution, but the point of clicking is the same..It's not like if you have lower resolution, a single click hits more things.

I don't understand the advantage / disadvantage of this post.
However - I do think that it would be beneficial to have custom mouse icons and what not. It wouldn't at all be game breaking - and I see not advantage / disadvantage that would result from this.

If you're at a lower level, I guess. If you play for a while, you start to get a feel for where your mouse is going.
Remember, editing the game files is always an option, but Blizzard seems to like banning people for that. Editing image files seems to be slightly less of an issue, though.

Mostly it's that it's a lot easier to see where the cursor is with peripheral vision than it is with a smaller mouse icon. As you know, you can't sit there staring at the cursor while playing and makign your moves. You need to be looking elsewhere while still being able to monitor where your cursor is going.
Also, you can say you can get familiar with where things are, but that's not even close to true. When microing your units they could be anywhere on the screen, and in any formation. You need to know where your cursor is at all times.

I don't know of a way to change your mouse size, if you look at idra's mouse, it is different but I'm not sure what he did...
I really don't see the point tbh, between changing camera position to match mouse movement and my body doing it for me I don't have a problem clicking around.

It is propable the streaming software that makes it look different for the viewers.

If you have problems following your mouse with your eyes its usually because you lack experience. The more you play the easier it is to see everything on the screen and stuff slows down. I don't see how having a larger mouse cursor would improve micro in fact I think it would be detrimental because it be much harder to split marines with a larger mouse cursor than a smaller one... You wouldn't want your mouse cursor to big bigger than your marine or ling would you?

Play SC2 in a low resolution, and your cursor will be larger.

Good job reading the first sentence in the OP

^lol....
regarding the OP, I see your situation as more of an annoyance rather than an actual decrease in your performance. I mean come on, if you think the cursor size is limiting your play...you got more important things to worry about.

well one thing is your mouse cursor gets bigger, But you also get a slightly lesser screen size right?

actually the field of vision remains the same, things are just smaller, i play windowed out of preference because i dont like turning my head to check my minimap :\
also i have tried editing the cursor file but it doesn't seem to change anything

I think practice is a better solution than a larger curser. Unless your default resolution is crazy large you shouldn't have to watch your mouse at all really.

Well, guess what. Now some people, including me, are playing in 4K and the mouse cursor is much smaller, a real pain to see it in some micro intensive tasks. No clue how to increase the size of it?

there is an option to increase mouse size under options > mouse > cursor size.. Think its been there since LOTV release.
