Your MMR is what counts, and when they fix the ladder bug if you were meant to get promoted today you will then. People care, because you could judge if you moved up in mmr by the league of your opponents. I am in gold right now and was playing a lot of plat. now im playing plat gold and silver and it makes it hard to judge if you are improving in skill or not.

You can't sit there and tell me your view is what others should all believe. Many people lose hope in their ability to get better and question their skill when they can't track progress and that's a demotivating factor. It's motivating to see yourself progress... Hell, I'd settle for just being able to see MMRs.

Show me an mmr, and ill stop worrying about the only tool i have to judge myself against my peers.

You won't get promoted until your new MMR has been balanced out so that the game know where to re-place you. If you're on a 15 winstreak vs Master Players etc, just keep playing. You will get ranked against players with higher and higher MMR. Eventually, you'll start losing. After you've lost a few games, the system will now be able to see where your new MMR lies. Knowing that you've improved isn't enough for a promotion. It has to know HOW MUCH you've improved. For example: I was placed in Plat in my 2v2Random after 5-0. I then went on to get 18-1, and was still in Plat, even though I got matched with players who still are around top 300 in EU (1v1). Then, I lost two games in a row, so I had 18-3. Got into Diamond. Won 2 more, lost 2 more: Masters. Solution: Just keep playing until you get defeated a few times. If you still don't get promoted, THEN it might be some sort of glitch, but not before that. Hope that helped. thank you helps alot XD

I think it would be kind of hard for blizzard to show you a MMR, because there's 6 different leagues. MMR usually works like rating and 1400 masters obviously isn't like 1400 bronze. Because of this I don't think they could really show you an accurate MMR.

There shouldn't be any different leagues for MMR. MMR is a universal score through which your skill is determined.. it doesn't change if you switch leagues and doesn't just keep climbing to crazy amounts like your ladder rating. If it worked like ladder rating it would be just as worthless in judging skill and as such would be worthless for matchmaking as well, so it can't possibly be like that. The only reason for them not to show it is because it would stagnate for many people who don't really improve so they'd be pissed. Same reason as not showing losses anymore. They show your skill rating in HoN though for example and it's fine.. I guess blizzard is just too scared of losing countless amounts of mainstream gamers who never improve and just enjoy getting to Top10 in silver league after 500 games.

MMR must be comparable across leagues because they match people across leagues. This doesn't preclude their storing it with some kind of league or division offset baked into it, but the math to compare MMR across leagues must be pretty simple, since they do it almost every time you hit the button.

I guess I'd need to see what the MMR value actually is. I was under the impression that it would, in theory, be the same as your ladder rating after enough wins. Basically meaning MMR is your ladder rating but more dynamic. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing it.

Someone in bronze with 1400 points isn't comparable to someone in master with 1400 points since points are devalued when you are promoted. MMR however is hidden and is what decides who you're matched against and when you're promoted. A bronze player with 1400 MMR and a master player with 1400 MMR wouldn't happen since if they have the same MMR, they should be in the same league, at least in the long run.

This and the fact that points only have to do with how much you play, not really how much you win. You could win 50% of your games and end up with 1400 points, or play a lot less games and win 60% and get 1400 points. People overvalue points imo.

I'd prop bet this with any degenerate gambler that isn't a sponsored player. i know someone who went 28-1 in 1v1 ladder and got promoted to masters after that. half of the games he played, he was against mid tier master ranked players.
