Ideally esports as a whole continues to grow and the entire landscape is profitable for all. MLB players don't feel bad about themselves because the NFL is bigger, and SC2 players shouldn't feel bad that Dota is bigger. All SC2 needs to worry about is getting enough numbers, viewership, support or whatever to be self sustainable and all is good. I don't see any reason it cant continue being a Top 3 game in esports. It won't likely ever be #1 again and that's totally fine as long as wherever it settles is sustainable and grow-able, which it seems to be so far.

That's the only potential problem but so far this hasn't exactly been a problem. Ideally esports as a whole continues to grow and the entire landscape is profitable for all. People just need to stop talking about Dota 2 and LoL putting up numbers and more about how the event was fun. Seriously, the leaders of the community need to comparing and saying, "man, that was exciting last night. But man have we got some good SC2 this weekend." The soon we accept that other people watch other stuff and it doesn't really matter, the better off we are. Also, Rezudox, GOOGOGOGO!

The soon we accept that other people watch other stuff and it doesn't really matter, the better off we are. Also, Rezudox, GOOGOGOGO! I agree. We've become obsessed with 'the numbers,' for good reason perhaps but it's fairly unimportant to compare viewership cross games. Like we said, if viewership is enough, it's enough, SC2 doesn't have to match TI3 or LCS. Just as MLB doesn't have to match the NBA or NFL, it just has to be enough. It also can't help but buzzkill the vibe when you start comparing numbers. They mentioned WCS getting like 68EU/50NA or something and then immediately ThorZaiN asks what TI got.. wheat explains it was 1M+ and from there it's almost impossible not to feel a bit down. Anyway, all of this has been talked to death. Good show everyone. For next week Suppy should work on his Chinese Proverbs. LOL.

One thing I would like to say though. Let me preface this by just saying I have nothing against Thorzain as a person, he's a nice guy and everything. But I don't think he's a good fit for inside the game, or any podcast or talkshow for that matter. He doesn't seem to be very interested in the discussions in the show, his opinions on things are often very short and he rarely object to or expand upon others' argument. In my opinion, he is just not a person who fits into shows like these. And I'm not saying this to begrudge Thorzain, imo, most people can't really do what Geoff or Marcus does with such pristine. You need very engaged and emphatic people who want their voices to be heard and valued. Podcasts like ITG gets considerably less interesting when there's almost no chance of disagreements or engaging discussions whatsoever. Anyways, happy 80th episode!
