To allude to the NFL, the major guys who commentate the big games (CBS/Fox national game on Sunday, NBC Sunday Night Football, ESPN Monday Night Football) do not let any bias bleed through to their commentary because a national audience just wants to see and hear a great game. Whereas when you get to smaller, more regional radio or TV broadcasts, they often do hire former players/coaches of the team in order to connect with the audience who wants to hear their team could still pull it off despite all odds. It doesn't happen that often, but I do remember from the last Dreamhack he was at hearing some of the EG homer-ism come out. I'm not sure if this is holding Geoff back from landing gigs at other major tournaments or taking that next big step in commentating, but just a perception of mine I wanted to point out. I wish you luck and hope to see you at more tournaments in the future. | ||
