I joined a ladder game and my opponent immediately left. I went back to the game lobby and got promoted to Diamond. It would've most likely happened pretty soon anyway, but I found it kind of funny to get promoted like that. | ||

I can only play at school because the school internet was actually better then the internet at my house-_- I was dissapointed because at a laddering party(with my other bronze homies) while they were being placed with silver and even gold, I was stuck with solid bronze, and even unplaced. One day at school, I just won a tough game and i was happy that I threw my hands up in victory and turned around to face all my classmate. My best homie started to make a joke saying "congratz, you got promoted to silv..what the shit...?"because I actually did. I think I kissed a guy on the back of his neck with joy, not exactly sure cuz it is all a bit fuzzy then:p In conclusion, I got promoted to silver without playing any silver, honestly. Promotion feels so good, even if it is just from bronze to silver.(My friend did a double league jump, im so jealous) | ||

In the last game b4 i got promoted, i was on a pretty large losing streak, 4 or 5 games, as i assume bnet was trying to figure out my ranking... i was high plat and playing vs diamonds of all calibers =P. ANYWAYS, i got this game, where i say HF instead of glhf... since it was on a huge losing streak, i wanted all my luck for myself. The guy im facing(protoss) construes this as BM and starts raging at me, saying that im an asshole/jerkass/douchebag for not wishing him good luck. I do my regular (at the time) 2 rax expand while he 4 gates me, i scan at 5:30 and see the constructing gates and have time to build bunkers, but he comes anyways. He just walks into 3 bunkers that i pull scvs to repair, and loses 20 supply for nothing, continues to BM more and then leaves the game... and i get that sweet sweet promotion message! So I ofc have to tell him about it... which needless to say, he doesnt appreciate =P | ||

I noticed he had 2 gases and he kept chrono boosting his probes, so it was obvious he wasn't going for any sort of 4 gate or what not. So I fast expanded, and he did too but a bit later. around half way through the game, I saw him go pretty early colossus and alot of stalkers. I didnt have a robo, so I decided to go for chargelots. He went to attack me, but i surrounded him with my zealots, and his colossi didn't do much at all, all I had was zealots with charge and a handful of sentries. Afterward, I quickly rushed to his base and he didn't have much by then, since I killed his colossi. And whats the best sign of promotion? BM of course! started calling me a noob, p imba and what not.. Got the promotion message, and after being stuck on that league for awhile, I just had the urge to say thanks to him ;P But later I blocked him, because he kept calling me names in some foreign language every time I got online :D | ||

You see, there are these days where my micro decides to take a nap. That can be quite risky during ling/baneling wars in the early game, actually so risky that at the 9 minute mark I was braving my way ahead with my 1 10hp drone that was mining gass. The rest of my drones found it a good idea to cuddle up next to banelings. I decided that I wouldnt give up, and kept on going until at the 15minute mark he decided to go with a roach/bane allin. And remarkebly I held it. And after that I kept macroing and won in the late game, simply because he figured a taking a 3d base is so mainstream. Was a nice cherry on the top to see a master League Promotion after the game. | ||

I was 14-0 on EU on my new name, still diamond. Good story though. I was gold at release, as I never followed sc2 beta at all. I hopped on, starting with 2s, and then solo. 4-5 games was plat, then from there it was like 15 to diamond, then I actually got serious about build orders etc. I used to ebay at 17 for fear of mutas and DTs lol... Then I finished season one a 3.5k masters with under 600 solo games. | ||

Then began a massive slog of winning 14 in a row at Bronze level and rising through each league up to Plat until the season finished. Season 2 I get placed into Diamond still there but been inactive for 3 weeks cos of a life  | ||
