I was playing a game vs some terran guy who i am assuming wants to be demoted. So he lifted his buildings and flew to my base and started attacking my probes. I was laughing hard at the time and i was in vent with a few friends. So he gg's and leaves and while the screen is loading to go to score screen i say "if i get to masters with a game like this i am going to crack up." guess what, i got into masters that game, and i DID crack up.

Ive pretty much went up one league every season. Hopefully I will be masters by the end of this season.

I started at protoss in beta and was diamond(when diamond was highest league)!!!! And I played BW A LOT so I felt strong at new game. I was diamond seasons 1-3,but slowly declining.
Now to the release. I started to play terran cuz tanks were so dang strong. Bio dropship play was EZ and cloaked units were easiest to deal with as terran! So basically I played them cuz they were easier than all the other races. I see the learning curve for terran to plateau quickly. Protoss and zerg have a steep learning curve but wqhen you get the basics they are really strong late game so the learning curve is drastically different. I would like to think this is the reason I have been deslining even though I have many massed games. I play daily now with practice partners mostly. -First season I was top diamond -Season 2 I was 17th diamond -Season 3 I was 34th diamond. -Season 4 I was really low and was demoted to plat and ended high plat. -Season five I was mid plat. -Season six I am struggling to get to top plat. I stay between rank 30-15. I beat diamond players regulatly but loose to plat still sometimes. I see nothing but BM on ladder so its kinda nonsince to play. but I still have 900 1v1 wins with terran and cant get to diamond. I feel like my play has improved greatly but the biggest thing holding me back is I never cheese and I feel this would help me get higher ranked..

I got straight into Plat when the game came out, then diamond, then masters.

Season 5: Started in silver i was a complete noob, went down to bronze cuz why the hell not Season 6: won 10 times against protoss all the time, never won against zerg, and i played vs zerg alot which kept me in bronze , became #1 in my division with almost 800 points and about 180 wins through the 2 seasons, i got promoted to silver in a game where i 15 hatch and made early roaches against a zerg, i won. for a change.like wtf.and in to such a division that i was after 2 games #1 in it, and with 100 wins this season and a cool hydralisk picture, im happy

I have been promoted to Silver league tonight, only started playing late January so I was happy with my first promotion and hope many more are to come

PvT on Antiga and the terran i went against did like 5 rax all in and just kept coming with waves and waves of units and at one point had a ghost or two and emp'd my sentries but i held it off and i got into diamond :D

As soon as I started playing the game I got into Platinum, and very quickly got into Diamond. Seasons and seasons, months and months go by of me facing mid to high masters players. One day (about a week ago), I'm playing another such player, when the lag screen appears. He's disconnecting, and there's no saving his connection. Another win, alright, I guess I'll log off for the night.
But wait...the victory screen appears, slightly faded, and I'm shown a window containing a medallion...It's happened...I finally got in...I've been promoted to master's! finally! I spend a few minutes dancing with myself, celebrating with song and drink, and from then on I quickly advanced from rank 40 to 16.

I played all the seasons prior to the latest as Zerg including most of the beta; I was always in Diamond. During seasons 3-4 I was very high diamond and was starting to face Master's players. Unfortunately I was using a machine from 2003, with a 1ghz single core CPU and 1g of ram. It became very difficult to ensure a good engagement from the midgame on, and the constant hiccups have a way of disturbing my macro rhythm. I basically gave up when it became evident I couldn't keep up and played very few matches until the current season.
After I got a new beasty machine the first thing I did was install SC2, and I was overjoyed at first. I hadn't realized at the time how many people had started playing Zerg recently. After hitting 17 ZvZs in a row, I decided to switch to Protoss. Fell down to low Platinum and after 600~ games this season I finally got promoted ten minutes ago! :D

Started a fresh start after a 1year break. Got into platinum on my trials after being masters season 1. Been playing for 2 weeks, advanced slowly..and hung around ~700points for a week or so Suddenly something clicked, and I was 820points in Plat winning 10/12 and still not promoted..I was ticked. To top it off, I lost 2 of the next 3, due to connection problems, without even playing them out) I managed to win a TvT on a 1Rax FE into a +1 marine timing, and got into diamond been 4 days now but now I'm 700diamond, slowly making my way onto masters... Strategies really evolved though...I dont remember my games being that difficult back then.

I was placed in Plat back in the Beta, but was quickly demoted to Silver because I was awful. =)
Eventually I worked my way back up to Gold around season 2 (3?).
Then I decided one week to get back to my original standing. I played nonstop for one full week, all night long, staying awake only during school and then sleeping off my late night gaming. Eventually, on a Sunday night, I was on another gaming spree, number 1 in my division, hoping that soon may be the time when my goals were achieved. Then, I played an epic match. It was a ZvT, and he could split marines like a baller. My massive amounts of Banelings wasted against too few Marines to be even close to cost effective. The game wore on, 20 minutes, 30, 45. No matter what I did, no matter how many expansions I took, he just traded more effectively than I could. Eventually, finally, dramatically the game ended in a spew of acid and a cloud of glaive worms. Finally, he mis-double-stimmed, which gave me the small advantage I needed to overcome his overpowered (Jk <3<3<3) Terran army.
Relief poured over me, as I hit the Score Screen button. I was tired. I glanced at the clock, noticing the 3 AM highlighted in luminescent letters. I turned back to the screen, and screamed. Out loud. At 3 AM. There it was, the validation of my exhaustive efforts. I was promoted, and as I logged out, I reflected on the irony that it took me over a year to get back to where I started.
The End
Also, the best feeling ever that night, I just took an hour long cold shower, filled with many a fist-pump and delighted squeel. I need to do that again sometime with Diamond. That week of play physically hurt though. It was worth it, in hindsight.

Beta - Platinum Terran Season 1 - Diamond Terran Season 2 - Platinum Terran Season 3 - Platinum Zerg Season 4 - Didn't play Season 5 - Played a lot (400 + games), Still top 8 platinum Zerg Season 6 - Promoted to Diamond, I feel like my play has improved so much, I am very happy and working my way to masters. =]

Well, I was top Bronze for a while before I got promoted. I was off-racing as Zerg a few games, 6-pooling my opponents. Then, after a few easy wins, I got promoted to Silver. At first, I was like, "What? Silver? For real?" I was pretty happy after that. I haven't laddered as much since, though, so I have yet to reach Gold (even though I've had so many win streaks against them).

Season 1: Started out on SEA as a bronze noob. Made it to gold by the end of S1. Season 2: Started playing on NA. Made it to Diamond as zerg. Made it to plat on SEA. Season 3: Switched to terran. Dropped to gold on NA. Didn't play much on SEA. Season 4: Rank 1 plat on NA. Season 5: Diamond on NA as terran. Season 6: Still diamond on NA as terran. Made it to diamond on SEA as terran which I failed to do as zerg.

Well my story comes from abit after release.
I worked from bronze to plat in 2 easons, then i started offracing and dropped to silver. This cycle has been going on for many seasons now. I play zerg, get to plat and off race for fun for about 50 games and get demoted. This has somewhat helped me as a player, cause ive learned certin things while playing terran or toss that i would of never learned just playing zerg. When on a good night my Z play is allmost perfect cause i have a decent understanding of T and P timings. I also perfer to play custom 1v1's with decent players, so it may be awhile till i get to diamond - masters as Z. Next season i think im gonna go for the push to masters if i think ive learned enough about T and P.
