then later on at home I got promoted to diamond and took a screenshot. Just today I played a placement match and now am officially masters! :D | ||

Moral of the story that I have realized: doesnt matter what strategy you use, as long as you are constantly making workers and not getting supply block, you will breeze past all leagues till platinum ( and diamond probably). My plan was to use 3 rax rush and try and end the game with a backup of an expansion in case i failed. I barely got to use the strategy properly due to proxy bases by toss, 1 base all in zergs and terrans who float their early factorys to my base to make hellions in my base. Lesson learnt - no matter wat happens, keep making probes and try to defend at all costs. if you survive, you will win unless your opponent is a secret master/GM. Thats my story. =D | ||

U guys are probably the only ones i know who will actually understand the joy of getting a promotion, my gf definitely doesnt get how important it is, lol. Been playing for 1.5 year now and when i first started out i was initially placed in silver. After 200 wins or so i got promoted to gold, and then platinum after about 3 months. When season 4 kicked in i was placed i diamond league, i posted it on facebook and no one got it.. end season 5 i was top 3 diamond and now im aiming for masters in season 6. SC is really affecting my way of learning in other areas of my life and has become my true passion. thats my story gl hf guys | ||

I was dumping around in gold league for quite a long time, I played SC2 in season 1 where I was platinum league, but then I somehow lost interest in the game. I started to play again in season 3 more actively, but without great success, since I was demoted in the meantime into gold league. In season 4, I played approx. 5 games, still in gold league. Mid-way through season 5, I picked up SC2 again. After 30 games or so, I got so frustrated with Protoss, that I actually wanted to switch to Zerg, which I unsuccessfully tried and then went back to protoss. After consultating TL and Liquipedia at a massive level, I slowly began to unterstand the game, and started to win games in gold league. I think everyone of you knows the joy to then play against players out of higher leagues, and to beat them. I was constantly playing against platinum players, and won my games most of the time. But it was not until that very special game on Entombed Valley - PvZ: He started 1 o'clock, I started 5 o'clock. I built my Pylon downhill, in order to prepare a FFE. Then I sent my probe out to scout his base, and halfway through I met zerglings streaming towards my base. In my mind I was like: "O-M-G" and was already prepared to ragequit, when suddenly the game started to lag: my opponent had a disconnect. I continueosly told myself in my mind: If you get promoted now, this will be THE WORST PROMOTION EVER...guess what happened. Yeah, that's my story of getting into platinum league... | ||

the placement matches i won were ZvZ,ZvT and ZvP and the two i lost where ZvT (2 rax all in against a gold player) and ZvZ (gold player base trade) | ||

I kept trying to get in and everyone was cheesing/one basing their way into the league. I gave up toss and switched to random at this point, and got in. Not long after I went Terran full time S2: Masters S3: Masters > at this point I can barely play anymore cause of school+gf so I'm hovering between borderline masters>dia S4: Masters S5: Dia > Masters I got demoted to Diamond, played 5 games and was put back into masters. Dunno. S6: Masters Boring huh | ||

I had a good streak at the end of S5 and got placed into gold. Now, I have only played a few games but I am climbing pretty rapidly. BNET is down so this is from memory: S1: Bronze zerg, S2: Silver zerg, S3: Gold zerg, S4: gold zerg, S5 silver Terran, S6 gold terran! What's funny to me is that I am worst at TvZ. | ||

I haven't really played any games since then. 2/5 placement matches done so far for S6, and I've won both, but I'm terrified of playing any further games, since I'm so awful :S | ||

S2: Silver -> Figured out the basics, went 25-5 one day and stayed up all night. S3: Gold -> Won a lot, didn't play for a week, played one game and got my promo. S4: Platinum -> Bought a new account, got placed in plat. S5: Plat S6: Lost my placement match, was pissed as hell. Then played 5 in a row against Diamonds, got promoted. Was on dolby with friends, started screaming and yelling multiple fucks. Roommate came running in to find out what was wrong, proceeded to hug him. Was a good day. | ||

This season, I tanked straight to bronze. It is a joy now to queue up a game with full confidence that I am the superior player. I can goof around and do bad builds, and still win. It feels good, and SC2 to me now is more of a stress reliever, as opposed to a frustration inducer. | ||
