Started in bronze as its my first rts. within around 3-4 weeks i got to high diamond ( before masters was out ). when masters came out I got promoted. Now trying to get into grandmasters

Just got into Platinum today! Held off a 7RR with 2gate Stargate, expanded, noticed he went hydra/roach and was going to all-in me again. Teched to Colossi just in time to have one pop out as he was attacking my base. Rolled over his army, got about 3 more Colossi, zealots, and stalkers, then walked right into his natural.

Got promoted afterwards and felt great

I played so many games and win so many, and my mmr got so high, I play gold players (with a 60% win rate) and am still stuck in bronze.

I used to be gold and i was given up to see something from the upper leagues. And one day I was playing and i was on a win streak and in that moment around me were 4-5 people and i was showing off :D :D :D: gold player. I was playing vs a zerg and the game lose close in the end I won with his going for base race. And he says gg wp ect and leaves the game and every one aroud me say you are good and i say yes :D . and i turn around to speak with them about the game and 1 mate ask me what is that on the screen i turn back to my pc and i saw it I scream so hard that i had tiers from happiness i was so happy

now a days when i look to this moment i smile always

Gone from Silver to Diamond in the past month, my 200th win being my Diamond promotion. It was a Bling bust and Me and the guy are now somewhat friends

Just got GM after like 8 hours of laddering...
Blizzard wouldn't send me to GM when I was beating Idra, ret, etc
then after I win & lose a couple more, sends me to GM after I beat a random person for 8 points..
but at least I got it again, 3 days before season lock, to fill the last spot

Got placed in gold during beta phase two. Played a ton during that week and got diamond at the end of that week. When the game came out got placed in plat then in another week got in to diamond again. When masters came out I got that asap. Won some tourneys got myself eu and kr and got them both to high masters tho kr took me two weeks. Didn't bother with gm on na or eu cuz kr is more fun.

Just got promoted to platinum after having played against platinums for over a month (roughly 3-5 games per day, excluding weekends). Started out in copper in the beta.

That aside...
I'd swear the matchmaking profiles players based on their playstyle (macro-oriented, proxies, cheese, etc) and pits you against non-stop cheesers when you're about to be promoted, to test if you're really ready or something.
Over the past month, I've played many platinums, and matches have generally been macro matches, going to 2 base versus 2 base and beyond. There are of course always players trying to all-in you at some point, but that was about it. Maybe one or two cannon rushes.

Just today and yesterday, I faced:
- 3 Cannon rushes (+2 attempted and cancelled)
- 2 Proxy gates
- 1 Korean 4Gate after I chased their probe away (would probably have been another proxy gate if not)
- 2 6/7pools
- a proxy 2rax.

All that in one day of laddering. What. The. Hell?

My only other explanation is that Day9 did a funday monday where players had to try and end the game before 6 minutes or something?

I took a long break during last spring and when i came back i lost like 15 games in a row so i dropped from 20ish in masters to 99 in diamond some how. In a fit of unmatched nerd rage I played for literally a day straight and got back up to top 10 masters :D. The final game was a 45 minute long TvZ that was extremely close

. So satisfying

Every single Promotion ive gotten from Silver to Masters (started in silver) has been a PvP ;; so all of the promos have been aftert 4 gate wars.....except the last one. Patch 1.4.0 hits and 4 gate is considerably less powerful (still powerful in certain situations of course). So I'm #1 diamond and I'm only playing Masters and I sit down to play a few games on a sunday.I play 3 games and all are pvp and I win 1 and lose 2 in a row so im feeling kinda down about the start of the day with laddering. So i que up for a 4th game. Taldarim Altar, PvP... Time to 4gate! Right? nope i see his probe scout me first so i know he's close positions and i decide to scout clockwise first and find him.....with 0 pylons in his base. I immediatly plop down another gate expecting a proxy 2 gate but i then see a 2nd probe run to the top of my base in the fog so i throw a forge down too realizing it may be cannons. send my zealot after the probes as it pops and lo and behold! 3 cannons hugging a pylon that is so far from my base the range isnt even close to my buildings plop down 3 cannons and kill his attempts to crawl cannons close to my production and as 2 zealots hit his mineral line he ggs. I stay in the game to find his forge and when i find it I leave and the pop-up appears! Masters 1v1 baby i think my clan mates, who i was in teamspeak with, had some hearing loss after i freaked out and was jumping up and down yelling and double fist pumping ha ha I've been trying way too hard to get to masters i think >.>

Sooooo happy!!!!!
I bought SC2 in the last few months of last season, and because I had watched a bunch of Terran ladder streams felt most comfortable playing as Terran.
Got placed Silver after winning 4/5 of my placement matches. I then proceeded to lose my first 3 ladder matches ever as a ranked player and was promptly demoted to rank 20ish Bronze.
Fought my way up last season to a top 10 Bronze finish, and was sad to be placed Bronze again this season...but I was now winning almost all of my matches, so promotion imminent, right? Apparently not. I've been riding Rank 1 or 2 Bronze all season without the promotion, and doing a ton of practice matches against a Platinum Protoss friend of mine. I was only really facing Silvers on the ladder anymore, and today after getting crushed 0-3 by my friend, and then losing to muta-bling on the ladder, I got mad...and did a 3 reactor rax all-in and pulled all of my SCVs against my Protoss foe.
He did a stellar job on the defense, considering he had expanded, and built a huge wall of gates and tech buildings to protect his main, and warped in some sentries and a few cannons. I started the push with about 80 supply, and was down under 30 when I finally knocked out his pylons and unpowered all of his production..."<user> has left the game" VICTORY!
Turns out he was rank 8 Silver, and now I am Rank 7 Silver! Small victory, but I am extremely pleased all the same, love this freaking game.

New season, revival post!

Finally, after crushing platinums for the entirety of the ladder lock, got promoted from gold to platinum!

Though I lost my placement match to a 2-base marine-tank push because I forgot to throw down a baneling nest...

Season 4. 5 minute break in lecture. Opened up laptop, logged in and hit the find match button. Aha! A terran on Antiga. Slowly, with unerring precision on my touchpad, I boxed all my workers, and shift a-moved all the bases. What luck! I found his base first! With agonizing difficulty, I reselected all my workers, and a-moved his mineral line. What followed was a massacre, and unfortunately, I lost.

I placed masters for the 3rd season in a row.

So, haven't played in forever. Play my placement, hands are shaking, missing hotkeys, missing clicks and playing like I'm in copper. Get demoted to Plat and play a few customs to warm up.
Won a ZvZ and my second opponent quit within 2 seconds of the start of the game.

Back in diamond. TOO EZ

I switched from Protoss to Zerg after trying for 7 months to get into Diamond with Protoss and failing completely. I did my placements on both of my accounts today and got cheesed on both of them and got placed back into into platinum even though I faced one mid diamond and a high diamond who had been in master league last season and was matched with master league players before and after me. I felt super disappointed so I thought I would maybe play a couple more games and that would be it since everyone is cheesing today. I Catz econ 7pooled on the first game on Shakuras and won because the guy kept trying to replace pylons and probably spent 1000 minerals on them and by then I had an expansion and 40 drones. Next game I got DT rushed and lost, but in my last game the guy tried to do that crappy 2gate zealot expand and only killed one queen with all his zealots and I had double the workers by the time his expansion finished so I ended up rolling him with roaches after he tried to do a 6 gate all-in and then finished him off with roaches and hydras. It was quite satisfying. Now I'm going to try on my other account with Protoss.

Today me and my friend were high diamond so we both qued at the same time, we got matched up and he beat me barley with an all in. We practice all the time so it is usually 50/50.
So anyway I lost but we both got placed in the same masters division =)
