Scouted, he's terran, his mother fucking hellion harass just gets my lings and i only had 2 spines up. That sets me really far behind/contains me, so im finally doing aight, beat his first push with a handful of lingsand 7ish mutas left. Then theres another push the same size and he kills my 3rd for the 2nd time and my 4th, i GG out. Rank 10 plat, 6 ranks higher than before! fuck | ||

Then season 3 I played my 1 placement and lost horribly to a 6 pool, and got put into Masters. After not playing for like 3 weeks before that. Was not really expecting that, and I thought it was pretty funny. | ||

So I started my placement match, it was a PvT on Shattered Temple. Pretty standard game if I remember, but I eventually won. He left the game, I went to score screen to see my results. It put me in gold league. I checked his rank, he was platinum. So I beat a plat player and consequently got demoted to gold. WTF Blizzard. | ||

Your MMR was gold-league level, possibly because you didn't ladder much and/or you were in the low range of your plat league (MMR-wise, not necessarily corresponds with division rank). The single game you played for your new-season-placement is inconsequential, since your MMR carries over between seasons. For 99% of the players it doesn't matter if they lose to a bronze leaguer or beat a GM in that single placement match, as their MMR already solidly fixes them in a certain league. | ||

Spawned as Protoss on cross position Metalopolis against a Terran who proceeded to execute the slowest 1-1-1 without banshees (Medivacs instead) that I've ever seen. By the time he hit I was comfortably sitting on two bases with Charge Zealots with Plus one armor, and Archons. Needless to say I crushed his push and pretty much had the game in the bag from there. I find it hard to believe the guy was actually mid diamond but oh well. | ||

Today I played my placement (ZvP on Nerazim Crypt) and won a game with Roach/Hydra/Corrupter against Colossus/VR/Zealot/Stalker. Promoted into a newly formed Platinum division, marking the highest I've been in 1v1. I'm pretty happy but I want to climb and get to Diamond before season 4 ends! | ||
