started in gold, got demoted to silver because i sucked last season. after that i cheesed my way to gold and platinum. stopped playing before season ended in first place platinum. started to play solid. second season got placed into diamond. got cheesed and failed a lot. so got demoted into platinum. stated to play lil bit more solid so im back in diamond.

When I finally got promoted to masters I was playing in a PvP and I hate PvP So I was already expecting a really crappy game and it was so I thought of just another game. The game started to lag as I clicked score screen, The masters screen popped up and I screamed tossed my headphones into the air and ran around in a circle for a bit than screenshotted it and made it my desktop wallpaper.

I am in the SEA servers and was surprised how good every one was even at bronze, I got placed in bronze and quickly got to rank 1 after about 10 wins and 2 losses.
then got cheesed a few times and eventually stucked at top bronze for a month (100 games)

then there was once my fd switched my race to protoss from zerg and facing a silver zerg and i thought, omg, this is my chance to get promoted but I am playing off race.
luckily i won and got promoted, kind of bad because I wanted to move up with my zerg play

Was mid plat in Season 1, played first match lost it and got promoted to diamond.-.-....Oh blizzard...

I was 3000 gold at the end of season 1, playing and owning plats. season 2 rolls around and i get promoted to plat from my placement match. keep on playing, couple weeks later im playing and owning diamonds. then one day i went on like a 7 game losing streak and was super sad. I knew i wouldn't be promoted after something like that. later that day, i thought to myself, "I'm not going to end this day without a win" so I play a game, PvZ, and I own him. Get to the score screen and WAAAAAH DIAMOND!!!! i was ecstatic

i was just playing for fun in the beginning, messing around in team games with my 'good friends'. then i basically decided to get serious and read tl, learned some basic build orders for each matchup and tried to understand how every matchup worked while getting the mechanics needed for it. i actually got from bronze to diamond in 10days, then i was stuck there for a while.

worked out though!

I was in 2v2 master with a friend as PT. We got tired of playing vs hellion 10 pool every game so my friend used a smurf account to play stress free games. We got placed into master and my friend promptly quit 2v2.

My story: I first played BW back in 2001 for a summer so I knew what it was and played vs the AI with cheats a lot so last spring when I saw a you tube video by HD and Husky on "SC2" I really wanted to get into it so I got a beta code and was bronze all through the end of beta. On release I struggled a lot and bought a new computer, it didn't help a ton at first and I was in bronze. I practiced a lot with random people and on a usual day of losing a ton on ladder I figured out what "timing push" meant and started doing tank marine pushes every game until a month or so later I was promoted from bronze to gold. Eventually I started reading Liquipedia and figuring out all the unit abilities and switched to Zerg from Terran for a bit and macro'd my way to diamond. Gotta say without the great folks writing all the info and stats in Liquipedia and Day9 I would never have gotten a good game sense enough to rise from bronze. :D Not super exciting tbh but that's my promotion story.

Got a 2nd account...main i play toss on this new on Ive been playing zerg..5 placement platinum....expected....only really play zerg in team games with buddies....play like 9 more games...promoted diamond.....holy shit didn't think i would get this far....20 some odd games later i'm in 3rd in my division....higher than i was as toss...if i get masters i'm going to shit bricks

When the game was released I qualified platinum in 1v1 and until the new season played roughly 60 games in total with roughly a 55% win ratio. During that entire season I spent most my time playing random 3s and 4s and finally got sick of it. Season 2 started and again I qualified platinum in 1v1, but instead of leaving it there, I started grinding games and got a TON better. To my amazement I was promoted to diamond 2 days ago and now sit in the top10 of my division. Master league here I come!

Diamond since the beta came out thanks to Day9 mental checklist, and like 2-3 of his other vids

When masters came out i climbed to the top of my division but was unable to beat a masters player.. i then resorted to 4 gate every zerg until i finally made it to Masters lol, not proud of myself but IMO it was worth it

bronze for all season one and the first week of season 2, then got promoted to silver, then spent a month and a half or so in silver and final got promoted to gold after smashing silvers forever. rank 3 gold now

feels SO good to get a promotion

Man was i happy when i got promoted from bronze to silver. i mean when i first started this game i went in my first like 13 games losing all of them i felt so dumb so i started watching a bunch of videos from hd and husky and wow did i learn alot. at first it killed me to multitask by clicking it was so annoying then i found hotkeys after that i went on to go for like 10-15 game winning streaks and after a while i went like 65% w/l ratio and then i got promoted to silver. but no i cant seem to get out of silver even though im playing gold and plat players and winning alot of them just waiting to get promoted again so that i feel like im getting better at this game instead of just stuck in the same spot

I started out in silver league, playing about as well as... Well, my main strategies were naked mass void rays (not even cannons!) , 3 gate with no warpgate or chronoboost at any point, 2 base, 5-gate, 5-robo mass collosus high templar, double worker rush, 6 barracks with reactors and tech labs off of once base, 6 pool, 7 pool, and mass hydras off of double expand by 20 supply.
I learned the game better, and in season two (still silver) I started smashing people with insane macro. Before long, I was facing top gold players. Then I started losing to cheese, cheese, an all-in, a blind counter to my blind counter to a 4-gate, etc. Then I decided to just have fun. I played a PvP with this in mind. I was rank 27 silver at this point with a 14-8 record (I don't play much :D) PvP is my worst matchup in every way. I can't beat 4 gate, collosi, not even 3 gate robo. I opened up with 2 gate zealot pressure and broke even. I got some stalkers and scouted 3 gate robo. I expanded, added 2 more gateways, and another gas. I held off the immortal/sentry/stalker pressure, expanded again, added more gateways, expanded again, attacked, expanded again, built 7 proxy pylons in his natural's mineral line, and he gg'd out.
Suddenly, I got promoted to rank 24 gold, up from rank 27 silver (???). I have more points (282) then I did in silver (275). I checked the opponents profile and he was top silver. o.O

Today I played a game after I came back from vacantion, hoping it would be an easy one. So at the loading screen I started spam clicking the races when a player was found. I was random, oh fuck. Im usual protoss but played some zerg as well, so im begging "Plz no terran, plz no terran.."
Metalopalis, close by ground, ZvT, with me being terran T.T... well mass marines it is..... After an 8 pool 2 baneling bust's I came to his base, only to find out he didnt have any stuff and rofl'd
Finaly SILVEEEERR ^^
