They'd probably be more hardcore since they paid the extra $40-$60 for an expansion.

It must be tricky balancing WoL right now, knowing full well that they will have the freedom to introduce new units with HoS. One can imagine that they have ideas to change fundamental dynamics that they don't like right now, but in the mean time they make smaller changes as band-aids.
I wouldn't be surprised to see various reversions to older versions of units in order to balance in light of new units. For example, maybe because of some new unit they add to zerg, it suddenly makes sense to add KA back to high templars. I don't actually think there is any reason to think that particular example will happen, but the balancing act must be hard to do with both of these versions at once.

Stop the speculations about the most absurd things, please. Just wait out the month

I wonder if we will see a sudden influx of Zerg players when this is out, But if I recall correctly didn't Blizzard hint a while back towards not adding any new units?

Yeah; probably a better solution to adding more units and making balance even harder. Still looking forward to the campaign however, but I'm still kind of on the fence about separate ladders.

I think they'll probably focus more on upgrades and abilities for existing units rather than new units, but I do expect to see one or two per race most likely.

They always add new units with expansions ( bw, tft ) and it improved the game both those times so I don't see why they wouldn't do it now but who knows ^^.

IIRC they only said they wont add units for the sake of adding new units. If they can find good uses for new units which make the game more interesting or "better" they will add them.

I wonder If I want to make a korean account or a spoof account when HOTS/LOTV comes out, am I going to need to buy all of the previous keys as well, or just the most updated version..

Anyone who picks up SC2 after the expo will have to buy both if they want to play HotS, so they will have laid out the same amount, more or less as we have. Afterall, it would be like playing WoW without the 3 expansions.... pointless.

It will be as it is always. Stand alone WoL, HOTS or WoL+HOTS edition for special price (definetely not for 120euro)

My HotS predictions:
There will be more exquisitely crafted campaign cutscenes hampered by a cheesily written storyline about redemption and an ominous dark figure with glowing red eyes. The Dark Voice is revealed to be Kil'Jaeden. All hands brace for incoming IP merger!
As time runs on and art assets are spent on campaign, MP unit design falls behind schedule. The lurker is cut at the last second as balancing needs to be simplified to fit the announced launch date, and it's art assets are saved for the next installment. The last race to be introduced has a dysfunctional basic lineup that ends up making it into retail as beta comes along and solidifies the tech tree.
The battle.net design team creates a slick interface with lots of portraits and achievements. They make no attempt to add the basic online community features that existed in previous Blizzard RTS games. The game is forced to launch with features like chat channels, tournament compatibility and clan interface as something "we want to do soon".
O wait that was WoL.
Lets hope they get it right this time.

Link? Because I have a hard time believing that they're still a company that wants to make money after all.
And from all their games the expo required the original game so I have a hard time believing that will change.

I realize that all the excitement here is about the MP aspects of HotS, however, the preview is about the single-player only. They will not be revealing details of the multiplayer mechanics.
I am also quite certain that you will have to buy both WoL and HotS to play MP of HotS, otherwise it makes no sense that it will be priced as an expansion pack. And it being an "expansion pack" has been repeated many times.
|
They are inviting game journalists for the single player reveal this week. I doubt they have invited Sen and co for single player stuff though. Question is how long their NDA will last, I know that gaming sites will be posting about the single player next week. Might be weeks before Sen and the other pros can talk about multiplayer.

Shhh! Stop derailing the rampant speculation with "reality".
Edit: The rest of this post was about when this is happening, but the person before me adequately answered that question.
