I don't know if this was asked before but Since you guys already have 3-4 seasons Locked and ready will you guys provide a multi-season Package deal at a discount?
|
who the hell would pay for 2 months of content for 20 bucks? come on guys, REALLY? You all buy 60 dollar games, many of you probably spend 20 bucks a day on something that you don't need but want. this is awesome, and if you're really a cheap high school kid or something, then just watch the low quality stream.
but you'll keep hating, so i'll stop.

Question: How long does it take to get the moderator approval on the voting site? Cause I suggested a few players 2 days ago and it still says "awaiting moderator approval".

I highly dislike this. I have no motivation to pay for a pre-recording of an event that has already happened. Why can't you just delay the stream slightly?
The format, IMO, is dumb. The feel of a pre-recorded event doesn't match that of a live event where bloopers occur, humor occurs, and overall anxiety surrounding the cheering of your favorite player. Only in live events does this feeling exist. Why should I buy a stream for an event that isn't live? Name any reputable sport that has survived in the US that is not casted live. Would anyone watch the Super Bowl from a recording and still get the feeling they do as if it were live? No. Is this true? So what we're getting isn't live at all? Yes, it's true. And poker is in no way exciting.... The difference is , if you watch SuperBowl from recording, obviously it won't be exciting because a lot of people would have watched it live and talking about it and you are left out. In this case, no one would have watched and known about the result except for a very small number of staff and we can still be excited together. You said "bloopers occur, humor occurs, and overall anxiety surrounding the cheering of your favorite player." The anxiety will still be the same because you don't know the result and no one else watching does. Bloopers happened in fact during the showmatch. Big blooper in fact with the de-sync issue. Likewise with humor, i don't think they will edit out funny parts Match history and b.net 2.0 have proven time and time again that event WILL be spoiled well beforehand. iNcontroL mentioned in his stream Q&A that they're working with Blizzard to get anonymous accounts so the match history won't spoil anything beforehand. If this is effective or not, I don't know, but at least they're thinking about all these issues.
Does this also apply for the 1000 people tournament qualifiers because that would be ALOT of anonymous accounts to give out or is this for the 16 qualifiers? Besides unless they cover up these smurf name in game each time or change the name multiple times( if possible) then people will catch up on these anonymous name account.

Will the NASL site get more community features? Forums? Comment Sections? Etc.

Justin.TV already has an App for Android (and probably the iPhone). Although it is not for the site content, it sure helps for watching the games prime time.

Yes, he said the current website was only a placeholder. As the event draws near, they will unfold the website in its completeness.

Only the 50 person league will be shown with a delay so they would only need 10 accounts to have 5 matches ready to go each night anonymously. Just don't tie a player to a specific smurf account and voila, anonymity.
edit: at least I'd hope the 16 person "offline" tourney would be cast and broadcast live.

Why does incontrol act like he is shocked at the end of every game? Does he really need to throw his hands out like he didn't expect the game to just end EVERY game? It gets old.
Why do I stare at a blank splash screen when you say its time for a message from your sponsors? I can't imagine they would be to happy to know that their paid for advertisements never showed.
Why was the sound ~5 seconds behind the prerecorded video?
Why the hype for something you don't even talk about? Can we assume the same type of let downs will happen in the future?
I really really want something like this to happen. However, for the amount of money being handed out in prize money, I was a bit shocked at the quality. I can't say I will be willing to pay for a premium stream at the start without you guys proving you can improve. This first impression will be hard to overcome.
I think a good comparison of the quality of the showmatch vs the quality of GSL (which has its own problems) would be a high school football game being shown live on tv vs a NFL game being shown on tv.
I am being harsh, but serious improvement needs to happen for this to succeed.

Evidently the casting will be done live however the 'stream' that we will be receiving will be for games that have already been played previous to the broadcast.
I.e. Sunday games played, cast live. Monday, postproduction on the video. Tuesday games broadcast.

Probably not. I doubt the entirety of the 1000 Online Tournament will be cast, therefore does not require anonymous accounts.
If they do get anonymous accounts, it will be for either the matches played that day (night matches) and/or for the finals.

Does this mean that the broadcast is streamed at a certain, specified time even though it is already casted the day before, or do people have access anytime to the video, or at least right after the broadcast?

Q. Don't you feel that having a 1000 man qualification tournament to get just one spot in the show is adds quite a bit of randomness to letting non-team players qualify? Wouldn't it be better to perhaps have some non-televised series of tournaments to select a group of players to qualify?
The TSL does a great job of having a running series of tournaments to select players that consistently perform well in these large tournaments. If your season one lasts four weeks why not have one or two tournaments each weekend and have the top four qualifiers based on consistent play make it in.
I'm really worried that we'll keep seeing the same people over and over from five or six teams in this league and then you just throw in some random as token attempt to make it seem like everyone has a chance.

Are you sure? I have no seen Xeris reply to such a statement nor was it mentioned in the g4tv interview.
Also, why would they implement Stream Delay then? I thought that was to prevent cheating.

Yes, and possibly... yes

It will be a SEASONAL fee (3 month long season), compared to GSL for example which is a 4 week payment

They won't conflict~~

So Geoff is incorrect then? He's said it like a bunch of times now the games will be casted live then presented as a prerecorded video for the stream.
