I highly dislike this. I have no motivation to pay for a pre-recording of an event that has already happened. Why can't you just delay the stream slightly?
The format, IMO, is dumb. The feel of a pre-recorded event doesn't match that of a live event where bloopers occur, humor occurs, and overall anxiety surrounding the cheering of your favorite player. Only in live events does this feeling exist. Why should I buy a stream for an event that isn't live? Name any reputable sport that has survived in the US that is not casted live. Would anyone watch the Super Bowl from a recording and still get the feeling they do as if it were live? No.
Is this true? So what we're getting isn't live at all?

If a team has more than 5 players that are top 50 caliber (like Team Liquid or EG), then that would contradict the stated goal of having the best players in the world, IMHO.

iNcontroL mentioned a connection of some kind between the NASL and the SCReddit Invitational guys. Can you go into any more detail about that connection?
Also, this doesn't affect me, but I am curious nonetheless. Will there be a foreign language stream/restream? I would imagine that there would be at least somewhat of a demand for that.

So from everything I've gathered so far all of the online games will be produced and released a day later, but what about the finals? Since they are offline, will they be broadcast live, or will they still undergo the one day delay?

Do you think his lack of professionalism will hinder your venture?
Oh, it's ON now!
InControl is actually very professional, like 90% of the time. And SOTG doesn't count because it's his 'job' to be funny on that show.

Yes, it's true.
And poker is in no way exciting....

That is truly disappointing. Yes they do it in poker, and thats why we know the results way before hand. Not nearly the same excitement as a table broadcast live.

No we aren't getting anything LIVE. Everything from what Incontrol has said is going to be a recording shot at us. Everything is going to be produced and then sent to us as a video. I have no problem with this but, I don't like how they keep using the word LIVE when EVERYTHING(from what information has been provided) will be at the very least 24 hours delayed. Please stop using the word LIVE when talking about the broadcasting.
I'm going to buy a ticket and support this but, there is nothing "LIVE" about this and I don't like being deceived. Listening to Incontrol's verbal gymnastics on his stream answering questions about it being LIVE was hard on the ears. It's a 24 hour delay VOD tourney that everyone will be watching.

The difference is , if you watch SuperBowl from recording, obviously it won't be exciting because a lot of people would have watched it live and talking about it and you are left out.
In this case, no one would have watched and known about the result except for a very small number of staff and we can still be excited together. You said
"bloopers occur, humor occurs, and overall anxiety surrounding the cheering of your favorite player."
The anxiety will still be the same because you don't know the result and no one else watching does. Bloopers happened in fact during the showmatch. Big blooper in fact with the de-sync issue. Likewise with humor, i don't think they will edit out funny parts

While I am slightly confused why they won't do a live stream, I would probably buy the offline stream if it's good. (Like I do with the GSL.)
However, I do find it odd that you wouldn't stream live.

i understand your logic for having the 5 player per team rule.
BUT let hypotheically pretend theres an NA team with super gosu players equlivant to
MC/MVP/Nestea/MKP/FD/Clide??
how do you as a team manger decide which 5 will play and who will have to try and qualify?? in a 1000 man tourny..
not only that with such a high prize (100k, 200k) the person who is excluded depending on their personality/ambition may opt to leave the team just for the chance to play.

Match history and b.net 2.0 have proven time and time again that event WILL be spoiled well beforehand.

I had no idea that it wasnt actually live and it was on a 24 hour delay!?!?! Is there any reason you guys keep stating its live when this is not actually true? its quite deceiving and in my opinion a bit of a deal breaker. Whats stopping people from just looking at the match history's of the people competing and finding out who won?

Seeing as people are gathering information from several places, this thread, nasl.tv faq and the interview incontrol did with g4tv, which info is most accurate/up to date? I would assume this thread but would be nice with a confirmation of sorts.

iNcontroL mentioned in his stream Q&A that they're working with Blizzard to get anonymous accounts so the match history won't spoil anything beforehand. If this is effective or not, I don't know, but at least they're thinking about all these issues.

The only two foreigners in Code S consistently place as amongst the best. Foreigners are quite good.
Nevermind the many other foreigners who have been champions of non-Korean tournaments that couldn't make code A. Whatever. But how do you expect this e-sport to gain any popularity when people have to pony up cash to watch essentially minor league VODs? What makes these better than games on Youtube? Nobody is going to pay for this unless they are already a dedicated SC2 fan; that's not how to grow a sport. Professional Halo didn't blow up based on Pay-Per-View.

No change in hell I am paying for a HQ stream, especially if it isn't a live viewing, but I'm still excited to see good games nonetheless.

By live they mean not-replays so there won't be any sync issues.
As for live viewers spoiling, I don't see why they wouldn't do the final 16 live-live since there won't be any danger of stream cheating.

who in their right mind would pay for a pre recorded live stream, and someone else above me just said this, but its true what makes this different from watching free vod's on youtube all of a sudden? with better caster in my opinion
