Back when I had a mouse though I kept its cable wedged underneath my speaker, far enough away that it wouldn't push "back" against me.

Wow, you for real play with a trackball? if so I commend you lol. Can I ask what your skill level is with a track ball? I couldn't even begin to fathom playing with a trackball lol.

I have most of it wrapped up (about 80%) because i use a G15 keyboard and it has USB sockets so i could put my mouse in and so i don't need to extend the label at all! => very convenient!.

I use a laptop and wired mouse, it just kind of sits behind the computer and occasionally I'll coil up the slack and ziptie it.

My mousepad is relatively rough so the mouse just grips onto it easily

My mouse is plugged into my keyboard and it has a strap on it to shorten it. Works great and never gets in the way.

Keyboard is a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate and Mouse is a R.A.T. 7

this is how i roll! i shud really tidy my desk and just use some tape like on my old desk. but this works absolutely fine and i use the lamp for drawing anyway

Put some slack into it and put a weight on it. Easy as. I either use my mobile or a stack of cd's.

I just recently purchased the Steelseries XAI and I love it. The cable is also awesome, and is giving me less trouble than my previous Razer mouse. My desk is up against the wall, and I just set my cord in a way that it is stuck between my desk and the wall with slack in between, and I am problem-free.

Easiest solution, keep mouse above tower. That way the slack is pulled down.

lol thanks... sadly I am only high Bronze

(> 50% win ratio) but it's definitely not due to the trackball... I hardly ever e.g. misclick and my micro is at least on par with my macro I feel.

It's really not too different from a mouse... I can move across the whole screen with about 3/4" movement... that's less than 1/2 turn of the ball so I don't have to take my fingers off of it. But because it's such a big ball (about 1.5") I can make fine movements for micro as well.

Of course I wouldn't recommend switching to it unless you're OK with spending a year before your movements are really fluid... I first got it to help with wrist issues when I was dabbling with Brood War a couple years ago and remember it being weird at first.

If anyone's curious I use a Kensignton Orbit... the ball spins very smoothly (esp. if I clean off the pads daily) and overall I'm very pleased with it.

My mouse came with a thing to stop this happening, so in the 3 years I've had my mouse I've never had any cord problems.

It stores the adjustable weights that go inside the mouse, and different types of feet for the mouse. I love this mouse.

I use a desk with a keyboard tray so cords by my feet can be somewhat annoying, especially the mouse.

solution? get a mouse with a braided cord.

why? it'll stay in place and not slide down the table or get stuck anywhere.

Can't find a camera to take a photo at the moment, but I have a bulldog clip attached to the back of my desk - the clamp holds onto the desk, and the cable goes through the wire frame that you use to open the clip. The ones I have are the perfect size for cables, and they provide enough friction to stop cables sliding around.

Another option I used to use was to cable tie my mouse cable to my keyboard cable - it kept the mouse cable in roughly the right place.
