I wasn't sure where to put this so I just stuck it here. I've been having a hell of a time figuring out what to do with my mouse cable. My computer is pretty far below my desk and no matter what I try to do with the mouse cable it's always causing a problem. It's either all up in my mouse's way or it's pulling the mouse toward the end of the desk (the most common problem).
Right now I have this complicated situation where I stick the mouse cable between two monitors so it's sort of stuck there but it always falls out at least once per game and then it's a huge mess to fix it in the middle of a game as you can imagine. How do you guys deal with this? Do any of you actually have one of those things the pros use that holds the mouse cable right in front of the mouse? If so, where did you get it? Hopefully I'm not the only person going crazy over this.
Thx in advance.

A have a light book on top of my chord, easy to ajust and so on.

I have no problem at all with my mouse cable, but then again, my tower stands on the table. How about some sticky tape to fix the cable in place?

I tape the cord to the table
Not ideal but i quick fix

One of my older mice came with a cable manager, but I don't use it. I just looped the mouse cable against the monitor's power cable at the end of the desk, which always provides enough length for full motion and a bit extra, but not so much that its annoying or gets in the way.
Velcro ties also work well for this (Loop around the tie then firmly attach to something like a cable)
Newer wireless mice are pretty good as well, but I hate dealing with batteries, even if they are rechargeable. One more thing to go wrong.

I looped my mouse cable around my monitor cable a few times to stop the cable from pulling my mouse up.

I use an external hub, so the mouse cabel is on my desk!

I use the thing that came with my Microsoft Sidewinder and use it with my Deathadder and it works nicely.

I actually am delighted to have no problem with that no more, I think it's the length and quality of the razer-mousecable that does it. The cable runs behind my keyboard simply, and since my computer is on the left of the keyboard it simply runs along the back side of the keyboard. Also, since the cable is a bit stiff, when I move the mouse forward the cable moves along (and it does have plenty of space to move), and when I drag it there's always enough cable. Jolly good.

Having a surround sound setup with my tower on the left on the floor and my mouse on the right, I pulled the cable up in behind and zip tied it with as much slack as possible to the cables on my primary right speaker. I had to leave enough slack though since my cats have a tendancy to whack at cables hanging in the air and my speaker already went for a ride twice leaving my mouse precariously dangling over the edge of the desk. Damned felines!

mouse bungee

i use a high tech device developed by NASA, it is called "piece of ducktape". it fixes the cable exactly where i want it while still allowing a somewhat fast relocation.

I roll with a mamba, and my 1ms response time is impeccable.
However have you thought of a USB extender?

Razer mouse cables are aaaaaaaaaaawesome. Before getting a razer I was just trying to position the cable under a speaker to keep it in place but I always had to re-position it at some point.

I got not mousecable, as I use this mouse:
![[image loading]](http://www.mousearena.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/logitech-media-mouse.jpg) Its pretty much like a remote control for me.
But before that, the cable was hanging down behind my desk, so it was like a natural mouse bungee - powered by gravity.

+1, this is what the BW progamers use.

By having it so it goes downward the cable is pulled downward, no problems. Well the constant strain makes the cable get loose inside the mouse after a few years.

Trackball doesn't have to move...
Back when I had a mouse though I kept its cable wedged underneath my speaker, far enough away that it wouldn't push "back" against me.

I use to tuck myn under my speaker to reducse the slack. But since then I have went out and bought a razer death adder. And no joke, my chord dangles and I dont notice it perios. It feels wireless!

I put some slack in the coard and then pinched it under the monitor.
