I got SC2 this morning , played a bit explored etc and after a few hours I wanted to post something on the forums. I hit the "submit" button and bam I can't post cuz parental control is active. Wtf? I haven't touched anything on the account settings except activating my game.

However I have no restrictions at all in game or in the forums , only that I cannot post. How can I fix it? I searched a bit and found that other ppls had the problem aswell , but I wasn't able to find how to fix it. Maybe contacting blizz , but that takes like 5 days so yeah...if there is another way I'm open to it.

Thx.

@Alpina I have my own PC , my parents have theirs.

@majestouch No , I never give my account info to anyone. On top of that , the accout was created only a day ago. And as I said the acc was activated only for like 2 - 3 hours.

It doesn't really affect me because the only restriction is that I can't post on forums. It must be a bug or smth , anyone has any other suggestions?

Your parents probably enabled it in your b.net account options, I would take it up with them.

Isn't there a restriction where new accounts can't post for the first two weeks? It happened to me when I first made my account.

Please don't post useless comments. First I live only with my mum , second she doesn't touch anything in my room , and while I am there , she doesn't enter. Then she has no access to my PC/360/Games/Etc what's mine.

I have a good relation with my mum , I don't tuch her stuff , she doesn't touch mine. Again , I am the only one who knows my account infos on everything online. And this happend in 3 hours. Please stop posting useless stuff , post only if you have a suggestion on what I might do ( except emailing blizz , anyway if I don't find a way to fix I'll have to email them and wait 5 days for their answer...).

Since this led you to find TL and not be posting on the bnet forums, I'd say this was a lucky break.

well the problem is that you cant add real life friend if you have parent control activated, thats what happened to our team manager. He didn't activated that and nobody else could as he is the only one who have access to the account. Plus there is no way to turn it off with out writing a letter to blizzard due the fact that you can't login to parent control.

Considering the quality of the posts in this thread, I wouldn't say we're making a very good first impression.

It seems like having Parental Control enabled can actually limit you from more than posting on the forum. According to the Social and Privacy Settings section of the Parental Controls guide, you could also be limited from in-game voice chat and Real ID.

I would recommend you just go ahead and contact Customer Services. Blizzard's CS (at least for WoW) is actually kind of legendary in the general gaming community and I'm sure they could sort this out for you in no time.

Yes I know , but I like to browse both forums and if I find something interesting I want to share my opinion , be it on bnet or here.

Edit: I sent an email to blizz.

I got an answer from blizzard. Here it is ->

Hello -------,

Thank you for contacting us. To disable the Parental Control settings from a Battle.net account, we require the following information:

- The Battle.net account name.
- The name of the Battle.net account holder.
- The full email address that is currently registered for the Parental Controls.

We also require the following:

(If the account holder is below the age of majority)
- A legible photograph or scan of the account holder's birth certificate (or other legal document) that clearly shows the affiliation between the child and the parent/guardian. Please note that we do not accept photocopies of documents.
AND
- A digital photograph or scan of a piece of government issued identification of the parent/guardian such as a passport or national identity card.

(If the account holder is above the age of majority)
A digital photograph or scan of a piece of government issued identification of the registered account holder such as a passport or national identity card.

We require ID verification when disabling the Parental Control details to protect the integrity of this feature. Please note that copies of legal documents are handled by Blizzard only and we handle all private personal data with discretion.

As stated in our Terms of Use, Battle.net accounts can only be registered to individuals that have reached the age of majority.

I was very clear in my email , where I told them that no one activated parental control. Still they ask me for "The full email address that is currently registered for the Parental Controls." They also ask me for aditional personal info etc. I'm going to reply to them with what I can.

I replyed to them , explaing a part of the problem again. Still they asked me for images of personal info.

I also tryed on my acc page "Retrieve Parental Controls E-mail" which obviously does not work...On the same page it says "You can only receive a new Parental Controls access e-mail if you have already set up Parental Controls on a Battle.net account." which explains why it doesn't work. Still I get blocked from posting on the forums cuz parental control is active , weeeird.

Edit: If I try to set up it says that the account already has it active. This is so annoying...

What did you expect? If you could send them an email without giving any proof of your age, then Parental Controls would be completely useless as every minor would email Blizzard and get rid of them.

I realize that none of this should have happened in the first place, and therefore it is Blizzard's fault, but its no reason to whine about their procedures. I'm sure everything will be sorted out soon as long as you do what they ask.
