No, they don't want you to use phoenixes more, they are trying to balance the game not tell you how to play.

I would like a speed upgrade for hydra's if they want to encourage hydra play. You have speed upgrades for lings and roaches, might as well have it for hydra too.

I do not think fungal growth will change zvz. Picture the roach builds now without the fungal growth change. Picture the roach build after fungal growth change. Do you know what the counter to mutas is? It is to go fucking kill him because he will not have enough ground army OR it is to make hydras. infestors are not necessary anywhere in that UNLESS you go roach infestor and in that case fungal growth will still effect ground.

wow thanks for contributing, here's my honest opinions.

Flux Vane- I don't cheese with void rays nor do I use it as a late game transition.
Holding Hotkey to Build Units- Never did that anyways, too used to BW (dont play Z either)
Pylon Block Removed- So much for TesteR's cannon strategy
Chat Channels- Ehh never really cared for this much
Fungal Growth Nerf- Good... one spell being able to capture a bunch of harassing units at once...

No I think the change is going to make for less strategic diversity. Phoenix opening is now by far the best opening for PvZ when it was already very strong. This means that zerg is going to haveto go hydra EVERY PvZ. Also, since infestors are useless against banshees and medivacs, zerg has to go muta every TvZ.

Zerg has less options than ever now when they didn't have many options to begin with.

Why do people think Hydras are "SOOO SLOOWWW OMGGG" they move the same "normal" 2.25 off creep as many many other units. Their DPS is insane, if they were any faster it'd break the game. Their speed on creep is ridiculous too

on the patch itself, I'm really looking forward to this going live for everyone. I want to see Protoss doing better, void ray and phoenix changes could help a lot... dunno about the no fungal on air tho...

if they think that holding down the HK is a bug then they should take it out for all the races.

lots of protoss players just hold f and click click click click for force shield

After every patch, tons of people flock to the race that got buffed, and away from the races that got nerfed.

Spin this on the head for a second, pretending the game was always like this. How would things play out?

Phoenixes can be built faster yes, but this also means they're going to consume more resources in a short amount of time. That means less gateway units, which is an exploitable weakness.

You can't fungal growth air units. How do you deal with mutas then? Spore crawlers, hydralisks, mutalisks and corrupters. It's really not that bad, a couple well placed spore crawlers will kill the harass, and you don't go mass mutas against hydralisks unless you WANT to die.

People need to stop going overboard when there's a patch, and analyze it.

And let's be honest here, Protoss needed an air buff of some kind, all their air units rather suck.

Would have preferred a carrier buff though.

Could someone with access to the PTR confirm if the hotkey change for larva/unit production is limited to this or if it's a global change, as in "holding a key does not spam it anymore". In other words, can this still be used for snipe, force field, storm, queuing marines in a ton of rax and so on?

The hotkeys are really awesome I always liked larva inject on R and was sad when they made it V I can now be happy its R again
