They will be able to OV hunt, and pump Phoenix' much faster, and if they make the right composition, I see it being very very difficult for Zerg to counter it. I would have originally said use Infestors with FG, but that is now not an option, which makes it very difficult to tie down the Phoenix'. Even if you wish to do a ling run-by or hydra/roach play. With the right ground composition, they can block their ramp and prevent an attack, as well as lift many of the hydras with an intense number of Phoenix'. It is just theory crafting on my part, but it is a concern I have. Thoughts? If the Protoss has say 3-5 phoenix, a few queens and a spore will protect most of your base. If they ramp up to 12 or so phoenix they're going to have to severely cut their army production. You want to know the counter to a tonne of phoenix? Take another expansion. There's little the Protoss can do to stop it. Let me repeat again. A "counter" to heavy phoenix play is to macro hard and weather the storm. You can get a large army of roach/hydra/corruptors which is going to roll gate/collossi/phoenix through sheer economic might. Think about how PvZ with mass phoenix works currently. Phoenix aren't becoming cheaper, they're coming out slightly faster and Zerg actually survives phoenix quite well without infestors even today.

I think it's obvious that the Top200 will be in master league, but who will qualify for this besides the top 200? If Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond each represents 20% of the player base, will it now be 16.66% for each, or rather 20%, but with diamond 19% and master 1%?

In fact, this is finally something of value, I think this will really distinguish ppl who are good at the game from the "average competitive player", like myself and probably 80-90% here on TL.

Yeah I don't think people understand just how few people 1-2% of diamond is going to be...

What's the point of that? What can the 1 game you play say about you that the previous 500 didn't already?

They said ur hidden rating will be saved if theres a reset ... so ur gonna do 1 placement ... and if u have been in diamond in season one u proberbly gonna be placed in diamond again ...

They just want you to play a game as a way of telling the system you want to compete in the upcoming season. To avoid inactive people getting placed or something like that. That particular game will have hardly any effect on where you'll be placed.
