Counterstrike is different, FPS engine, different rules than the 2d interface of starcraft and windows desktop

The problem has been that I haven't felt comfortable with my settings at all, and seeing this thread made me enthusiastic. Given how backwards my philosophy was on this, a proposal for completely opposite settings intrigued me. I'll try what Cyro suggests and I think it will heed nice enough results. - Thanks a lot.

I play at 400/800 dpi, but from what ive heard 1600-2000 is "normal".
I use a 45x40cm mousemat though

I disabled the sc2 mouse settings entirely and am using the 6/11 with between 1400-2000 dpi.

So this might be a stupid question on my part. I'm assuming that if I disabled my in-game sensitivity all together that I will get a 1:1 ratio. Instead of setting it to 51% correct?
I have a XAI and I use 600CPI with 6/11. I use to have it on 5000CPI at 20% in-game sensitivity. Then I came across this thread and decided that I didn't want "extra pixels" so I chose 600CPI with in-game sensitivity disabled. It feels roughly the same.

well my logitech software has an option (disable native OS drivers for pointer and acceleration) and i have that off with my logitech option at 5/10.

Does it matter if I have diferent screen-resolution in sc2 then in windows?
I have in windows : 1920*1080
sc2: 1440*900
Windows mouse settings 6/11, Enhance pointer precision; off, and I even added the reg-fix.
Sc2 settings, 54%
Razer abyssus settings 10/10, 1800dpi, 1000Hz polling rate..

Wow did you resurrect an old thread for that question...but the answer, as far as I know, is no. If you play SC2 in full screen mode it'll change the windows resolution temporarily, anyway. However, that brings up the question of why the resolutions are different to begin with. You should set both to be whatever the native resolution of your monitor is for best results.

I think my question fits very well into this very good topic that is still important today : It's not outdated and timeless imo.
So it deserves an unintended pointer anyways.
Me:
After many ladder plays of Sc2 I found my DPI of 1800 for 1920x1080 too be slightly too high, because I can't reach a good minimap click precision (everything else is really fine).
My mouse has two settings:
1800 DPI and
800 DPI
Because of the wanted minimap precision I tried 800 DPI for a bit now. And I think for Sc2 it's inferior (for me) for a very quick RTS. Of course the minimap precision is there now.
Therefore I want to reach a middle ground, where I can have minimap precision and a quicker mouse (close to 1800 DPI ... of what was fine but the small precision)
-> so I tried a virtual DPI of 1200
~I read the thread of 6/11 being the optimal setting, again it*s not optimal for me read above, because I have only these 2 settings and 1800 DPI is "too fast" and 800 DPI is "too slow"~
My question topic 1 is: Which way would you recommend of how to achieve this virtual DPI of 1200 best?
a) use
1800 DPI
and windows 4/11 => Sc2: 37% (0,366) ;;testing atm works okay.
b) use
800 DPI
and windows 9/11 => Sc2: 82% (0,811)
is there any differences in the so called "Pixel Jumping" between both those options?
Bonus Question: and if yes, what would be the answers for virtual "1500" DPI?
(FYI Both mathematically put 1800 with 6/11 (Sc2=52%) to "1200". (background: 1800 / 6 x 4 = 1200 ;; 800 / 6 x 9 = 1200)
