2 units Terran won't build. Reaper made worthless by time, and hellion made worthless by roach range, can't kite at all.
DTs are great when the opponent doesn't have detection, (which happens more than you would think.) Carriers and motherships are great when you actually manage to get them. I wouldn't call that worthless function. They just all take so long to build. : < That's the problem, time. Same thing that makes reapers worthless. How many high lvl games you seen a guy with carriers or MS? 1/20? Game is usually over by then and if it's not they are easily fell by vikings, corruptors, and other units in small numbers. MS is most ridiculous since everything targets her since they can't see anything else to target. Either way IMO it's a fail when several units of a race are not used. yeah, BW was a fail. i can think of several units in BW that were pretty useless...

I had already started using thors against protoss before this change, and they were doing much better than expected. Now they should be awesome!

Very interesting changes. In the few games I've played, I've noticed that the roach range increase has made it a lot more viable in ZvT. Hellion/Marine attacks designed to take out the nat hatchery just as its about to finish have been very easy to negate now. Haven't played any ZvPs, though I think late game will most likely have a dramatic improvement for Z.
Overall, as a Z player, I like the patch. I believe the reaper changes were definitely warranted, though I question the necessity of the P nerfs.
To all the whiners: Use some of that 'creativity' that you kept telling Z to use to 'overcome the imbalances'.

I now try to understand the concept behind spells and abilities. Blizzard doesn't distinguish betweem them and calls everything an ability. There are energy-based abilities and non-energy-based abilities.
Currently the thor's cannon and the corruptor's corruption don't consume energy. The yamato cannon does. The phoenixes graviton beam also.
Casted spells are supposed to consume energy. The exceptions should be nuke, stim and toggling abilities like burrow, assault and fighter mode, phasing and transport mode, blink etc.
It is perfectly normal that even massable combat and support units like phoenixes, sentries and medivacs possess energy. That's why I really don't like this change. It creates inconsistencies. Feedback wasn't used regularly on corruptors anyway.
It also removes a counter from the game.

Guys just calm down. Reapers got nerfed. But terran has other units isn't it?
At this thread, you can realize how all terran users were reapers-dependent at early game. There is a mid-game playstyle if you didnt know.

They're all just abilities. There are no "spells". That's just a nickname people gave due to warcraft 3.

Yes, I've stated the fact that there are only abilities. Only the liquipedia 2 makes the distinction.
The editor distinguishes between talents and spells. ^^

Wow, that was quick.
Really disagree with the depot for barracks requirement though, makes terran quiet boring for the first 2-3 minutes, you basically can not do anything else but 12 rax.
MLG will be really interesting now.

I don't know is stargate really needed now. Carrier is a big bulk of shit, VRs are nerfed to the ground. Oh yeah, maybe phoenix harass in PvZ. That's all.

Been playing a while with the new patch now, and VR are soo lame now, it's no longer worth it to sneak one in from the backdoor. Its still pretty good in frontlines in pvp.

Oh totally this 1 patch definitely made Terran weaker... NOT!
But I do hope Idra still wins :D.
The only change I dislike of this patch is the supply depo before rax I do agree that is dumb but requiring it does not make terran weaker or anything.
