VR nerf from out of the blue...

Stil confused as to why Blizz felt the need to actually implement the supply depot rax requirement. I think that it's extreme and quite dumb.

I'm extremely excited for Zerg now though. More HP on buildings! (vs reduction in Marauder dmg to buildings =\, but hey) Yay Roaches!

i can see some sense in the depot before rax thing because i have this friend who literally does nothing but go 9 barracks starts pumping out marines and adds 2 more rax and just marine rushes and he seems to win almost every game he plays and it kinda pisses me off cuz i like the good old natural builds that lead into long economic games.

BTW 7 rax reaper simply needed to go. It was uncounterable at all but the very highest levels and is just an example of bad gameplay.


Just to clarify:
In terms of damage, the VR only has 2 stages. The incoming change is to the last and final stage, which significantly reduces the damage done to armored units. In terms of graphics however, The VR is shown to have 3 stages: the initial, the slightly larger beam, and the final charged PLOWTHROUGHSHIT beam. The initial beam and the slightly larger beam offers no difference in damage as is for cosmetics effects (for you to know you been chargin' ur lazorz), and the last one is obvious as the beam gets incredibly large and decimates your buildings.

I think blizzard are making too big changes. They need to make small shifts and see the impact. If its not enough then make another small shift in a month.
The last patch was good with a small increase in build time.

I just realize that this patch is GREAT for my play style. I still think supply-barrack is bad but I can manage.

The buffing of supply health is really really useful

Wait... someone said there are only two Void Ray attack levels? Then why are there three levels graphically (and three levels of sound effect too)?

If there are only two levels, then good lord are void rays crap. I thought there was a third level, so the nerf was only to the middle level. So I was wrong then?

There are 2 levels, uncharged and charged. Uncharged = thin beam, charge = thick beam. Level 2, as you were thinking of it, does the same damage as totally uncharged.

This makes me think Blizzard just doesn't read the forums. I don't think there was a single soul that liked the depot before rax change. It's really dumb. If they really wanted to nerf reapers, why not just make them cost more money or make them.. *cough* 2 supply???? omg, that would make it a lot easier. Take advice from your own patch nerfs a la roaches.

It's impossible to find a logical or reasonable explanation for it. It only deletes T cheese from the game (hoho, fear the T cheese), it deletes some builds too, it's nothing really game changing, I don't know the purpose of that.
