Good patch. Only thing I don't like is the depot before rax and the nitro packs needing factory. Those changes are just stupid.

I could see the depot before rax if you left nitro alone or vice versa. That would at least enable Reapers to be somewhat useful early game. As it is now though they're completely worthless.

sigh. i like the roach range increase and the medivac nerf/building health buff. I don't like the silly supply depot requirement. There should be a better solution for that. As for toss air...... #(*&@#. They might as well make everything an SC1 scout. Even more impractical/impossible to open stargate/templar tech .... gonna see a lot more pure robo play for sure. I want to be able to do an SC2 build similar to the bisu build or something. P is strong yes but the nerfs are just killing the diversity and not *really* addressing balance properly imo.
Underneath David Kims banelings is another control group of banelings.

I must be misunderstanding something. Can someone tell me why this voidray nerf is significant?

Sure, they do less damage at charge level 2... but aren't they doing the same amount when fully charged (level 3)? The speed upgrade I can understand, but why are people acting like voidrays are getting an enormous nerf here?

BTW 7 rax reaper simply needed to go. It was uncounterable at all but the very highest levels and is just an example of bad gameplay.

I dont get it, why they just dont nerf marauder dmg to buildings instead of incracing the hp of everything :\

Test #1: VR still beats thor 1v1. Roughly 82 HP left. That's one more hit the Thor got in over last patch ( 108 hp ).

Test #2: Roaches now can now hit cannons behind gateway blocks. If the cannon is place one spot back the roach can hit the gateway with out being in range of the cannon.

They don't want to give buildings their own armor type (for some reason) and they feel that lowering Marauder damage vs. armored would nerf them too much vs. units

great extra change with the voidray. Theyy were cleary way to strong charged and way to weak uncharged. I really appreciate the change. Also medivac nerf is understandable. The changes to Energy for Cor and Thors s also quite good.

btw: Iam Terran and the supply depot before Rax change doesnt bother me at all. This whole 6 pool argument is totaly pointless.

In order to scout a 6 pool before building a depot you have to scout with one of your initial 6 scvs. The rax will be in construction before the lings arrive, and the wall-in should be complete, plus with depots now having more life, you have more time to repair them. 6 pool is such a non-issue, its complete suicide vs any competent terran player. What league are you in?

If any T player thinks 6pooling is hard to beat, try Protoss. We have to leave a hole in the wall so that we can get our shit out, our first unit is melee, and we can't repair our buildings. (Not saying it's impossible, just saying that T has absolutely no friggin reason to be bitching about getting ling cheesed.)

I couldn't disagree more. Voidrays were way to powerful. I could never punish my protoss opponents for playing like retards. guy had 2 gates and a stargate and had about 5 voidrays after he fail pushed me. He made an expansion and i had 4 raxes. Guess who couldn't even kill 4 units? me.
tbh i like to live in a game where i can punish my opponents for making bad decisions. Like expanding vs a 4 rax. 5 units should not beable to decimate my army in less then 5 seconds when its fully charged. Also another reason for this change is to make protoss use carriers more. Voids aren't useless they are just going to have be played with differently. I wish i could gather a few of my replays but i didn't save these ones to show you. But voidrays were a universal unit. GOOD at deffending and GOOD at attacking and HARASSING. But i think this is going to prompt carrier usage more lategame which imo is a good thing.

The tools existed in the game for you to utterly decimate that guy but you just didn't use them. They would not have even required any more speed. If you just played smarter and made good decisions, it would have been an easy win like you say.

So its a complete necessity to have vikings to pursue any sort of push vs voids? I did have options available how ever i felt an expansion would have been a mistake. I just wiped out all of his gate units. and was on 3 raxes at that time with stim and combat shield. Teching would take awhile and given my opponent ample time to produce a large amount of gateways giving the expansion. My option was to take advantage of the fact his expansion had just finished and that he just lost his gate units and was only on 3 production facilities. Do you understand my logic now? I can understand your point of view. But are my options really limited to teching-expanding? and god forbid i played someone good who would abuse the charge and constantly harass me with pylon charge up while i did this.
Also. I suppose i underestimated a unit that is excellent at harass is also more then excellent at defense.


Seriously this is the equivelent of a toss going 4 gate and not pushing or teching until 5 production cycles of banshees and then coming to the forums to complain about it. I have lost games like this but I completely understand i lost them due to my mistakes and i don't complain about the imbalance of them.
