But it's definitely a lot of fun doing that, I admit. :D Pippi, Suzy and Kara lalal yeah... but will they really call a player "Kang Ji Kyung"? It's like calling a dude Sarah Jones... :D Also let's be honest, Horus is a freaking cool name for a Zerg.

Going to be super disappointed if Horus and ChaosTheory aren't badass.
And Duochicken.

Fun thread. :-)
Anyone know if there's a list of notable gamers (eg, Tester) that didn't qualify for Season 2 GSL? I know I can get the list of qualified players at GOMtv's website, but is anyone keeping track of players who got eliminated?

Updated with Day 4 qualified players.

Thanks for these! Been waiting to have something to hinge my poor, Roman-characters-only memory on for these players

I recommend 반반쓰 as "bonbons" if it was intended as panties, the song "shake your bonbon" creates a link. if not, it sounds similar.

FFS when is the foreign community going to start using real names? Players change their nickname all the time. It's too confusing to keep track of all of them. Real names are always used in mainstream sports, and using them in e-sports would make the scene appear more professional. When an outsider watches a SC2 commentary, all of these weird nicknames are going to seem like a bunch of nerd-lingo.
They use real names in Korea. So should we.

hmmm...
even better...
GayBar vs ellenpage
but really these names are awful... I know they don't care one whit about how their names appear in the history thread in the teamliquid forums, but it wouldn't kill them to think up non-joke nicknames.

Surely CoreBest is the clean, easy-to-pronounce way to go? Too many recommendations that have two words imo.

Someone get Tastosis in here so they know the official names to use on stream.

More Polls Please!
Also, are we going to be doing this for the rest of the korean unknowns?

They'll just get weird translated names like "a fruit dealer" despite his fan nickname being fruitseller before that.
So might as well just wait and see what their names end up being translated as by Gom.

Pretty sure GOMTV read this thread and used your names.
I think you were the first person to suggest ChickenCombo... and for ChickenCombo, LoveRip, CoreJJang, AND Pippi all to be used is more than a concidence.
Grats on the name picking if this is true, good choices!
Not sure what they named the guy you were calling Horus, but they just left "KangJiYoung" alone, probably because it doesn't translate well.
